I don't think we can bench Kyle Allen...

The Panthers need to play the guy that gives them the best chance to win regardless of what consequences it has for Newton, Allen or anybody else..

Who that is right now is the only question that matters.

Yep, and I'm glad I'm not the one who has to make the decision.  It is a good problem to have

we rushed mccaffrey back today and the running game suffered.

Bucs have an interior line of Vea and Suh and Linebackers David and White.

They stuffed other good Run games.

I get what you're trying to say but also you're kind of reaching here man. The Run game being stuffed today was not because of Cmc's health. Bonnafon more than likely wouldn't have faired much better.

Foles just won a SB...

28-43 for 373 yards and 3 TDs vs. 1 INT

I don't think people remember just how pedestrian Dilfer was when they throw his name around. He never threw for over 3000 yards in a season. He only had 5 300+ yard games in his career. He only had 6 3+ TD games in his career. He threw more INTs than he did TDs in his career.

No, you cannot win a SB in today's NFL with that type of QB play.

Being over 50 helps :)

I've mentioned before that people like rushing to judgment; sometimes just because they have no patience, other times because they want to be able to say "See? I called it!"

Old people like me prefer to take it slow.

I'm not too far behind you Mr. Scot. :shades: I like to roll with the momentum and think it would be ill-advised to yank the rug from underneath this thing all in the name of a PR move.

I’m assuming that’s his SB stats? Do you not think Allen or Dilfer would be capable of that with the pieces we have on offense? Complete teams win SBs and we could have an elite complete team here even if Allen is just a Dilfer like QB, though I do think he can be much more than that.

Dilfer couldn't. 373 yards would've literally been his career high. Go back and check my edit. Dilfer sucked.

Having an all-time great defense drag him to a ring and then having a lot of years pass has completely changed people's perception of him and his career.

I think that Allen should be the starter until at least the TEN game. Lisfranc sprain recovery is 6 - 8 weeks. If the team can get thru the stretch of SF, TEN, and GB with at the most 1 loss, then ATL is the perfect defense to get Cam back in rhythm.

If Allen has another good game in SF and it is a win you can't bench him. Ride him till he struggles.

Agreed, he survived the Bucs taking the run away, he should keep playing. And perhaps we could, for once, not rush Cam back in at the very first possible moment as in the past.

I can't really go with that either.

If you make the decision that he's your starter, you need to stick with him even if he does struggle.

Every quarterback is going to have struggles. If you're swapping starters anytime somebody has a rough game, you become Jon Gruden.

(or Steve Spurrier)

No, that leeway should only be given to the franchise QB. Kyle is trying to replace a $100m MVP. The seat is and should be hot.
