Kyle Allen has been doing well to Manage the game.  Plays smart and we are winning.  Kyle will never bring to the table what a healthy Cam does.   And I mean 100%, not good enough to throw good passes.  I am talking the Cam that will take off and run and the designed runs that we have for him.

How many times have we said "Cam willed us to a win"  "Cam carried this team on his back".  "Without Cam we would be 2-14"  So while Allen has done enough to win.  Cam, when healthy, is by far a much more dangerous player than KA.  This is no knock on KA either.  I don't think on his best day KA could carry this team the way Cam has over the years.

My 100% would include designed runs and long field stretching bombs.

so you're sending your 30yo qb with 2 shoulder surgeries and a mid foot injury on designed runs.   doesn't seem sustainable dave.

If he is 100% healthy.  If you are putting him out there to play a different game than what he is accustom to than maybe he shouldn't be out there.  I emphasized truly 100%.  I am tossed on my opinion if he can truly be 100% this season.

Difference is Brees was playing great before the thumb injury. Cam was playing like trash the last 8 or so games he lost straight. So yeah you stick with the hot hand in Kyle Allen. Like Brees is still the hot hand in NO even though Teddy is playing hot.

Was he though?

Bree's was playing the worst in his career the end of last year, causing people to question if father time caught up and caused him to decline.

Cam played like trash the last 8 games because he was playing hurt, from a injury.  Prior to the Watt hit that caused the injury.  He was having his best season statistically

You raise a legit point. People are so used to Brees playing at such a high level for so long it’s easy to overlook his recent poor play before the injury. But when all is said and done, if I try to remove any personal feelings I have about the Saints from the equation I think it boils down to this:

You can’t deny a HOF qb who has led your franchise to greatness the chance to lead his team in the playoffs when they look like legit contenders and it’s not certain his play has declined to an unacceptable level.

I think the difference between Brees situation and Cam’s which is causing Smitty to make the distinction between the two is what they have achieved so far in their respective careers. I think if Cam has even that one SB ring, maybe it changes that equation, but unfortunately for all of us he doesn’t, so in the end I think Smitty is right, and as usual telling it like it is.

The question was- if Kyle Allen keeps winning and Cam comes back healthy, do you play Cam? He said no, you play the hot hand.

If Teddy Bridgewater keeps winning and Drew comes back healthy, do you play Drew? He said absolutely, you let Drew come back in.

When asked why, he said "Because Drew Brees is a Hall of Famer"

That last sentence is a retarded reason but I don’t disagree with him about Brees and Cam. My reason though is that Brees has played at an extremely high level before his injury. Cam has not and has lost like 9 straight...

The reason we lost 9 games was a combo of Cams shoulder and the defense suuuuucked. The defense is good this year and if cam is 100% healthy then he plays.

that is the scenario that was presented. You make it sound like we lost 9 in a row with a healthy Cam.

2 of those losses were this year. Defense has played well to win every game.

If we stay undefeated while Cam’s out, and he comes back and we lose the first game. I’ll be pissed admittedly

To be fair, that game is against the 49ers and they will be our toughest opponent so far. With Cam or Kyle that’s going to be a tough one.

He didn’t have the ankle injury last year or apparently until during the Bucs game this year. We have no clue if his shoulder will ever be 100% again or if it just is what it is at this point.  Can anyone here honestly say that once Cam is 100% recovered from the ankle injury they are confident he’ll come in and play like 2015 Cam or even early 2018 Cam? I have very little confidence in that happening even if he gets 100%. That is definitely the hope as he’d be way better than Allen, but all I’ve seen from him on the field lately leads me to believe that his arm is shot, his mind isn’t in the game or something like that.

That wasn’t the scenario presented. Smitty said even if he was 100% healthy he still rides the bench. That’s dumb.

ive said this time and time again if Cams shoulder is toast and he can’t make the throws deep, we move on from him.
