Panthers RB DeAngelo Williams fined $5,000 by NFL for last week's illegal chop block

well as you all know there's such a heated debate right now about concussions in the NFL and having long term effects on players.

All these fines are simply a way of protecting the players to the best of Roger Goodell's ability. He's facing a lot of scrutiny and that's the reason why we've been seeing more fines than we ever have.

Wouldn't have been an issue had Otah not pursued. Hence the small fine.

was it otah? i couldn't remember. i just remembered the huge hole left open with a defender coming in untouched. dewill stepped up and went low on the big guy and otah reach over at the last second to give a small push on the shoulder as the defender was going by. dwill was already committed on going low. it was a bang-bang play and i don't think that is what the rule is intended for. it shoudl be for going low on a DL when an OL is actually engaged directly.

still BS in my book but i guess that's why they didn't invite me to the meeting when they created the rule. :dita:
