Threads like these are for certain posters who think Kyle is better than even a healthy Cam. People who post things like “cam has never been able to make throws like that” “ cam can’t read the field” etc etc.

if those posters didn’t exist you wouldn’t see people post things like this methinks.

as far as Allen, he’s been a good/solid backup. Ideally I’d like to see the things he does well because it’s more fun then reading about things he doesn’t do well.

But why make the other 98% us suffer with another turd thread?

Since '11, just before we drafted Cam, we've been more about WHO is at QB than WHAT QB play and the team as a whole looked like. Cam polarized the fan base more than many here may remember. Some were ready to see him fail, some were optimistic but sort of expecting him to be a flash in the pan, others were die hard Cam Newton fans from the start. Whatever the case, most came to the obvious conclusion: Cam is really good, but different. He's not what most of us wanted him to be immediately. We wanted 2003 Jake Delhomme back. We wanted somebody to come in and be rock solid and stead fast and humble. What we got was brash, young, unconventional and a giant superstar. A far cry from humble Jake and the numerous QBs who succeeded him from 2009-2011.

Fast forward through Cam's career, there are constants that cannot be ignored and are often both under and overstated by people on here as well as talking heads in media. Cam's accuracy, while not near as bad as some would have you believe, is and has always been an issue. Not that he isn't accurate, it's that his accuracy comes in flashes. When he is hot and feeling it, Cam Newton is unparalleled. When he is cold....boy he's tough to watch. When he's injured, it's just sad to watch because we know how he looks hot and cold and you know he's in the middle and that he can't help it due to injury.

What Kyle Allen or any more "conventional" QB brings to the team that we have lacked is quiet but consistent play within each game. Occasionally lighting it up when they can, but never going to be the best QB in the league type of guys. Like Jake. That's what we're seeing. A QB that is benefiting from a great supporting cast. Like Jake. A time period that many miss and romanticize a bit.

Cam is the better football player. Cam, when healthy, is the better QB of the two. But he brings something different from Allen. As long as Cam is on the roster, he is THE guy. If he's not on his game, the team will struggle. We have seen this throughout his career. That is the difference between he and Allen because Allen just had one of the most "meh" personal performances we've seen in a while from anybody and we still won. Cam being "meh" means we're struggling to do anything offensively. THAT is the difference. Cam is more dynamic, he brings more to your team, he affords more creativity and he can bail you out in situations most QBs would crumble.....but you better hope he's healthy and not on a bad day.

What does this lead to? A Carolina Huddle where if you say "I don't know, Allen just seems to fit what Norv wants offensively a bit better and the offense just operates different with him in there", you're secretly racist and the very people who claim to be Panthers fans are watching Panthers games WAITING for the 8 bad passing plays (regardless of who is to blame) so they can criticize Allen because Cam has been criticized so much by people his whole career.

The Panthers are bigger than any one player and this board has forgotten that.

This so much unfortunately.......
