How about Allen between the 20s and Cam in redzone.

That could work.

Platooning quarterbacks is pretty much never a good idea.

The only guy I can recall trying it much in the pros is Steve Spurrier. It was a disaster, but then pretty much everything Spurrier did as a pro coach was a disaster.

Only part I don't agree with (saw Steve Smith weirdly change his tune on this too).  It's like the Broncos keeping The Golden Calf of Bristol instead of going out and signing Manning because they went to the divisional round of the playoffs.

I’m in favor of Cam getting back out there when healthy, but it’s really nothing like that lol. Allen can actually throw the ball and has the best passer rating in the league.

People here talk about how stubborn Rivera is. If he did put Cam out there and we lost the next two games, would that not be stubbornness. So far Allen is undefeated.

Again, I view Cam as the much superior QB, but comparing Allen to The Golden Calf of Bristol is just laughable

Good point. We are also making the assumption Cam still has 100% potential. His new 100% might be closer to his previous 80%.

Not sure I agree with the % but your statement resonates.  I also think the definition of “healthy” may have shifted based on having a capable backup.   Not suggesting Allen is as good as Cam or is a long term solution.  But it gives you options if the team wants to take its time.

I think RR and co might be a bit more cautious given the fact Cam admitted to downplaying his injury.  I suspect the team knew he was more dinged than he admitted and looked the other way.  But don’t think they do that going forward.
