Mario Addison on pace for 21 sacks

I think he is the most under rated pass rusher in the league..

dude does nothing but post 10 sack seasons.. and if you were at a bar talking up Mario Addison, I think most people would be like.."who"

ill admit, he was the forgotten guy for me heading into this season.. I assumed he was the 4-3 DE that would look like a fish out of water in the 3-4.. well, maybe he was a fish out of water SURVIVING in a 4-3, and this 3-4 is his nitch..

bottom line, hes bang for your buck, productive, quiet and a team player... thats whats the fug is up dude

Remember that there was a thread in the preseason wanting him cut because he wasn't going to be effective in our new defense? LOL!

He honestly didn't look that great for a good portion of last year.

Resurgence after a season like that is unusual, but it happens.

My argument against it was simply that you cannot cut your best proven edge rusher to save a mere $8M against the cap. Going into this season, Addison and Irvin were the only two edge rushers we had who had actually shown themselves capable of playing in the NFL.

Dude was a pure 3-4 guy out of college, he bulked up to play in a 4-3 and still balled out.

What you’re seeing this year is Mario playing in his natural scheme and he’s dominating.

Did y’all notice that bull rush he put on Norwell and shoved him into Moustache?

I don’t recall Addison looking bad at all. I’m not saying he was playing as good but in the context or the entire defense shitting the bed, he was the only one producing a modicum or pressure and getting some sacks. Something overall (Washington and Rodgers) was just wrong and Addison wasn’t the issue.

I wouldn't necessarily say he was "the issue" but he looked to me like he had lost a step last year.

Better this year, though.

Props to Mario for his numbers.

Having said that, we are getting primarily coverage sacks.  Their Oline handled us pretty well yesterday.  Mario needs to thank the CB's for his numbers in my opinion.  There is not a Peppers nor Kraken on our line at the moment
