It could be worse. According to this article https://www.patriots.com/news/nfl-decade-standings-how-the-league-ranks-from-2010-2018, the Panthers are ranked 14th in regular season wins between 2010 -2018.  This of course includes John Fox's 2-10 season.  I couldn't find a ranking between 2011 and 2018.  I think you could safely say we are in the top half of the league in the time Rivera has been coach.

I'm just really sick to damn DEATH of the Saints. I'm shocked that they're undefeated without Drew Brees.

Writing is on the wall. The NFL is going to give Brees a retirement party, just like they did for Peyton Manning.

I’ll take it, but anyone that thinks Brees is retiring after this year (even if we win a Super Bowl) isn’t paying much attention.

If anything, it might end up helping him stick around even longer. I know y’all seen him on the sidelines: like a dog standing at the end of the chain, chomping at the bit to get back out there. Missing 6-7 weeks toward the middle of the season only means his arm is going to be that much fresher going into January.

Just approaching the bar.

tbh, not to knock anyone, but a lot of the posts in this thread analyzing the current situation say things completely generic to the NFL at this point in the season. You could literally take some of this stuff and plug it in every single season at this time of year and at most you might have to shuffle some of the team names around. We're just too early in the season to really assess anything meaningful.

    • Yeah and he succeeded at an even higher level in LA with an even better surrounding cast. Goff is a guy that isn't really able to dramatically elevate players around him but he can make a good situation even better. He is capable of that. Some QB's aren't. I am not sure Dak is able to do that and he is in a similar "class" as Goff, IMO.
    • i think i could handle that for a year. beyond that....i don't know.  back where we lived, when we had a few inches of snow, it might have been a couple feet because we weren't getting out and doing anything. i remember times where power would go out for days on end. we had propane and electric heat, depending on the floor. basement (had a couple bedrooms and a living room and kitchen down there) and main floor had gas logs. main floor gas logs was enough to take care of the upstairs, so we could stay warm and cook on the grill when we needed. we had a well so that was always an issue when the power went out. had to make sure tubs were filled with water for the toilets and we had gallons of water for drinking and cooking available. always had to make sure we were ready. that wasn't always the case. we had a couple moments where we were going through propane quickly and because we were dealing with the worst propane company in the world (amerigas) they wouldn't get out to put gas in our 900 gallon tank. made for some nerve racking moments.  i know y'all were probably a lot more able to handle that kind of thing, but after the little bit (comparatively) that we got here i just have no desire to get trapped again. maybe for a day or two a year get snowed in and i'm good.
    • I think he is just drawing a DC to them line and that's about as far as his thought process went. It makes almost no sense outside of that. Also, it doesn't make sense for Pittsburgh or Seattle at this juncture either.  I think our "veteran" pool is basically gonna be the Dalton/Flacco tier or the "pick your poison" options of young busts(Jones/Z. Wilson) or wild, TO prone gunslingers(Darnold/Winston/etc). We have the option to pursue I genuinely believe(depending on the way the rest of this season goes), we either draft a QB in the top 10 or resign Dalton. Outlier third option on taking one of the wild gunslingers that Dave feels like he can work with.
