Continued thoughts on Kyle Allen

count the fumbles as interceptions. they're actually worse from a quarterback because they're usually spot turnovers at best whereas long interceptions can work about the same as a punt on 3rd downs. talking about who recovered them is results oriented. both a bad pass and a bad fumble are equally concerning. his stats look a lot more reasonable to his performance level when you do so.

I don’t think he was saying that. I took it as Allen has done his job managing these games well enough to help us win. He’s no lock to be heir apparent like he had been so quickly crowned by some. He’s gotta lot to work on but still getting his job done. And the main point here was regardless of Allen, CMC is THE reason we have won these games. U remove CMC from the equation and no realistic backup Qb option we could have found (whether it was Allen, Grier, Free Agent) would have us 3-2.

Kyle Allen isn’t pretty like Cam but the man just keep on winning. We will get a real good look of how Allen can or can not open up this same offense Cam had vs the same Tampa Bay Bucs team this Sunday in London.

So you are saying you would rather see our young QB throwing picks than fumbling?  I'll take fumbling, as it is 10000x easier to fix.

so if we keep moving goalposts and make 1 stat a different stat then we'll see things like you do.  no thanks.   its called conflation.  you know what int's are  -  turnovers.   fumbles are sometimes turnovers.  ints are way worse.

no, i'm just addressing the point you made regarding my assertion that fumbles from a quarterback are roughly the same as throwing interceptions and in a lot of cases much worse. that's not an "i hate kyle allen" assertion, it's just a general observation to contextualize the fact that fumbling seven times has worked out improbably well for him and field position is an important part of where the turnover takes place.

At this point, Allen is showing that he is just a game manager. However, I believe that Allen’s ability to pass the ball opens up the run game. Sunday will be proof to whether that is correct or incorrect vs the same tampa bay team that made Cam and this same Carolina offense one dimensional just a couple weeks ago.

He looked pretty bad.  That being said, the O-line somehow simultaneously played magnificently and horribly.  The run blocking was outstanding, but they were letting Kyle Allen get harassed every time we dared to throw the ball.  The pressure was definitely in his head.  We need Greg Little back in a bad way.  All the pressure is coming from the blind side.

The offensive line can’t pass block. Unless that gets fixed, it doesn’t matter who plays QB for this team

He looked like he was trying to play much quicker to avoid the fumbles. That resulted in off target throws and him throwing uncatchable  lasers.
