Is Allen a legit starting qb

Here's the thing, though...

It can be said with 100% accuracy that Newton was an MVP level QB. Whether or not he still is that animal is not quite so certain.

Hence, why most of us prefer to wait and see what happens.

100 percent agree.

It's just getting old to read the side that has already written this off

There are also people taking any suggestion that he might come back looking like anything less than Superman reborn as if it were blasphemy.

It sucks, but it's a very real possibility.

None of us knows what's going to happen.

If he were to look like anything he looked like at the beginning of last year, then we are legit superbowl contenders.

Thanks to CMC

If he maintains it.

I'm not necessarily as concerned with how Newton looks on his first week back as I am how he looks on his sixth or seventh.

Too soon, Exectutus, too soon. We simply don't know.

I'm concerned KA has appeared to get worse each start, rather than better.

I'm concerned we haven't yet seen what happens when KA gets the ball with just over two minutes to play, down by four. You want to make Jack comparisons? Those were the situations Jake was absolutely money (pre-injury). KA hasn't been in that situation yet. I hope he balls out, but again, you just don't know.

The e Panthers are 4-0 with him starting. I love that. Remember, we were seriously talking mock drafts after the TNF disaster. Sundays are more fun when yourel team wins.

That said, I've never been a fan or a believer of  #QBWinz. There's a ton of good information out there showing how flawed an idea it can be and how it can lead you to some poor decisions.

Cam can come back healthy, and set the world on fire.

Cam can come back less than healthy, and still set the world on fire.

Cam can come back less that healthy, and never be the same.

    Or Cam is done.

I don't think many folks truly believe that he is done. So the odds are good for a solid return.

What does that have to do with allen.. all those 0-9 games were under injury.. how many mvps and superbowl appearances goes allen have if u wanna play the wins game.

Who’s freaking fault is that if you continue to go out injured not able to help us but not being totally honest how the freak do I know when you’re 100%. Please help me understand when do we believe he’s GTG he said he’s ready for game one that doesn’t seem to be true. He hurt the team and himself more by playing all those games hurt and then cane out and started the season looking somewhat similar. I’m a Superman Fan rocked the jersey today but when do we know he’s back help me get clarity.

he's not going to have a super long nfl career if he can't fix this fumbling issue. it's a bigger deal to coaches than it is to us even when it's not a turnover. to me, you may as well put all those fumbles down as interceptions if not worse because they're basically interceptions at the spot of the ball. i really like the amount of misdirection we're using in the running game with a lot of fake reverses to freeze the defense and buy our runs and screens time to develop. as long as he keeps finding CMC in the passing game, he'll be fine. i didn't like any of his throws over 10 yards today, but we're not asking him to make a lot of those anymore considering that we don't want him holding the ball in the pocket.

the understandable but disappointing truth is that they don't trust him making anything longer than 4 step drops because of how easily the ball comes out if his arm gets touched in his windup. that's a hand size issue. there are things he can do to minimize that, but it's always going to be something he has to be aware is a problem. that sort of limits him to a WCO style quarterback, because he's not fast enough to buy time on rollouts. it's a good marriage because norv turner loves to dink and dunk if he has a back that is as elite as CMC, putting together 15 play drives and just methodically moving the ball in small chunks. would love to see him focus on getting the ball out quicker the way he was on the first few drives today. it's a weird adjustment because i think the plan this season was to use all that speed to attack downfield, but we're having trouble getting it to samuel and moore in the open field.

Allen was the #1 QB coming out of high school.  That tells me he has the tools to become a good QB in the NFL.  I think Norv is one of the best QB whisperers in the game today.

If Allen can clean up the fumbles he could be a very good QB.  Pocket awareness is a tricky bitch though.

In any case, I'll take Allen over Newton, unless Newton gets completely healthy.  Cam isn't Montana, Brady, Marino...if he can't get to the point that his running is a threat, then he's donezo.

This is literally the reality, when all bias and prejudice are removed.

If all options are set at equal, then we have a 50% of having a good playoff caliber qb back.

Or we can pretend that a great backup qb can absolutley do what Cam can.

"Muh accuracy tho"

Hard to be accurate behind a line that gives up at the first letter of the spoken word "hike"

Also hard to win games when you put the ball on the ground when you're touched.

He has 7 fumbles but is 3-0. Today he faced a gameplan that challenged him and he made inexperienced mistakes as well as rose to the occasion.

It's hard to complain when a last resort gives you 3 wins while learning the ropes. He beat two teams that are probably playoff bound.
