Is Allen a legit starting qb

He has 7 fumbles but is 3-0. Today he faced a gameplan that challenged him and he made inexperienced mistakes as well as rose to the occasion.

It's hard to complain when a last resort gives you 3 wins while learning the ropes. He beat two teams that are probably playoff bound.

McCaffrey beat 2 teams that are playoff bound.

Not today but how many Oline combo will he have underneath KA. Kinda like Cam, we can never have consistency for Oline.

The regression on this graph is not encouraging. I think part of it is playing better defenses. But part of it is DCs getting tape on him and inevitably "helping" him find his ceiling. Where he goes from there is next next question. Is he starter material right now? Absolutely. For the Dolphins, anyhow...

I don't think it's fair to say it's CMC because every good QB has a quality RB and WR.

Cam went 6-10 his first season. Allen is 2/3 the way there.

I will say unlike Cam. He wouldn't be able to take over a game. As long as he has solid players around him. He can have a decent career. With experience who knows.

Brady doesn’t take over games, he puts the ball in the hands of guys that do.  Kyle has room to grow, but he has done a wonderful job so far sans the fumbles.

Wtf you mean regression?

He has only one game below 70% in his career.

He has fumblitis not interceplitis.

He has played with a different Oline combo every week.

JFC, one week below 70% = mUh He ReGrEsSiNg.

Jags have a killer front 7. They blitzed and played man alot. This means tighter windows and make our Rookie 6th LT vunerable and make DWill their bitch. Guess what! It almost worked.

Of course he isnt a competent starting quarterback yet. He has 4 starts. Here was Jake's line through 4 games.

4 TDs, 4 Ints, 3 sacks. Highest qbr- 92.8 and lowest qbr- 16. Completion % 57

Passing was 53 for 93 for 510 yards.   All wins for us.

So if Jake was a starting QB for us in 2003, Allen by all measures has better stats and is also 4-0 as a starter.

People who believe in regression are also those who probably believe climate change is real LOL

KA is the best quarterback this team has ever had.

The biggest problem with Allen is he is not Cam. A lot of these guys where not panthers fans before Cam came around and anybody that disagrees with them is obviously racist.

I am a Cam fan but I am a Panthers fan first and Allen has led us to 3 straight wins. If Allen remains the starter and Cam never makes it back so be it.

Do I wish he would stop fumbling every game? Sure, but I also wish the O-line could block even pedestrian pass rushers.

ive been wrestling with this topic internally for quite a while now. here are my thouhgts---

1) Cam Newton is Cam NEwton. He's superCam. I mean the guy was a freakin NFL MVP not long ago at all. He's an athletic freak of nature. Seeing him on the bench just doesn't seem right from a loyalty perspective.

2) Having said all of that, he clearly is injured. something is wrong. Missing wide open would be touch down passes, and lack of mobility have left him looking pretty ueseless out there. Enter Josh Allen. The guy comes in and just turns the entire ship around. The best quality in a qb as far as im concerned is amnesia. Yes, to the haters, he does fumble a lot, but he has amnesia and quickly recovers and doesnt let it get to him. THAT is swag. Whereas Cam is always moping around the sidelines and getting in a bad attitude. Allen is relentlessly positive and self-assured that he can recover from mistakes quickly, which is a GREAT attribute in a QB.

3) Reminder just how many times SuperCam changes the playcall at the line of scrimmage. I used to love this cause he was dominating the foe all game. But now it just looks like he's getting in the way of Norv's mojo. Recall the past success Norv has had molding young QB's into his system and producing incredible talent.

Gun to my head, I'm saying we keep Allen as the starter and trade Cam while we can still get value for him

When Cam is on, he is tough to stop. The problem is that his game is tough on his body. It was inevitable we would be at this point. I am looking to see if Cam.can transition to a less physical  role where he runs less and throws more. If he can't then Allen is next man up. Until Cam is healthy, Allen is who we got and so far he has helped us win which is his job.

Regression is in the yardage : 261 - 232 - 181.

While it is true he's only had one game under 70%, you again see each game it gets worse (or said another way, regresses) : 73.1% - 70.6% - 56.7%.

It is also true he's played with a different OLine each week and this week featured a rookie 6th round player at LT.

I'm hoping a for nice game against Tampa for KA that reverses the trends.
