I believe in Jake Delhomme

I believe in Jake Delhomme. I do, I really do.

I believe in the story of a guy who comes out of nowhere and gets a shot. I love the story of a nobody coming off the bench and taking a team to the Super Bowl that had never been there before.

I believe in a guy who has played beyond what the critics say his ability is. I love the story of an everyman schmoe who breaks into the big time.

I believe in a guy who will wing it out there in the hope and belief that his go to guy will catch it and make something happen.

I believe in a guy that suffers what should have been a career ending injury and he works his way back. I love the fact that the guy takes his team to its best regular season schedule ever.

I believe in the guy who has the worst game of his career, in the national spotlight, on his birthday. I love the fact that when he could have shifted the blame, he said it was all on him.

I believe in the guy who came back to play again even when almost everyone had quit on him. And I love that even in the face of adversity, he's still winging that ball downfield, trying to make something happen, and trusting in his teammates.

And I believe in the guy that still takes all the blame on his shoulders. And I love the fact that his coach is going to stand by him and let him have one last shot to get his revenge this Sunday and to get back what was taken from him.

Here's to you, Jake. I'll cheer when you take the field and I'll cheer when you walk off the field the victor. If it doesn't work out, I'll still be a fan forever.

Nice sentiment - Even if it has no touch with reality.

At this point I really could care less who plays QB. I will be watching the games - Hoping for the best - but fully expecting the worst.

it is funny how poeple can believe in jake delhomme, and how he came up, but discount moore for how he came in the league.
true.

what did jake have that matt moore doesn't?

a real opportunity.

neither of those two had given a whole lot of reason why they should be considered as a starter.

back then fox was a risk taker and willing to take a gamble on a young unproven QB over an underperforming QB that was holding the team back. now....not so much.

It's probably because it was early in his career and his seat wasn't as hot with lower expectations.

Sorry, I just couldn't resist any longer.

What A Fool Believes <---- See video

words and music by Michael McDonald and Kenny

Loggins (The Doobie Brothers), albeit modified

He came from somewhere back in [him]

long ago

The sentimental fool don't see

Tryin' hard to recreate

What had yet to be created once in [his] life

[He] musters a smile

For his nostalgic tale

Never coming near what he wanted to say

Only to realize

It never really was

[He] had a place in his life

He never made [him] think twice

As he rises to [his] apology

Anybody else would surely know

He's watching [him]go

But what a fool believes

he sees

No wise man has the power

to reason away

What seems to be

Is always better than nothing

And nothing at all keeps sending

him...

Somewhere back in her long ago

Where he can still believe

There's a place in [his] life

Someday, somewhere, [he] will return

[He] had a place in his life

He never made [him] think twice

As he rises to [his] apology

Anybody else would surely know

He's watching [him] go

But what a fool believes

he sees

No wise man has the power

to reason away

What seems to be

Is always better than nothing

There's nothing at all

But what a fool believes

he sees...

To me, this is the game. The Cardinals are the team that this whole thing really started against, and they could be the team it ends against. I've been as big a Jake supporter as anyone, and a much bigger one than most on here. I think if he gets it done this weekend, it could be a corner he's starting to turn. If not, I don't know that I'll think he's our guy anymore.

I actually agree with this. I feel the game is highly important in this aspect and hopefully to gain it all back.

I would like nothing more than to see him return with some of the magic of old. I have him on my fantasy team this week, but I must admit it was because Palmer is on a bye and he was the only starter left in the pool. I would be rooting for him regardless, but honestly I feel this has to be his last shot this year to turn it around.
