Helluva game yesterday, despite how miserable the officiating was.

Anyone heard an update on Wallmark? Concussion?

Haven’t seen an official update but he was on the bench in OT so I think he was cleared and was fine.

Mrazek sucks. Period.

Yeah, he isn't a starter. This was my major concern going into the season. Hopefully we do something about it. I'm tired of Carolina sports sticking with mediocre players because they have "heart and fire".

Mrazek is just showing his bad side.  It's unfortunate but this has been his MO his entire career.  Streaky.  He did get hung out on some bad defense. Losing Dougie hurt more than I thought it would.

Streaky isn't going to cut it in this battle for the playoffs, much less trying to make a Stanley Cup run.

Canes didn't even look like a playoff hopeful last night. They are struggling on the back end and I'm not sure why Edmundson isn't getting more ice time. I mean, Gardiner is good, but he makes mistakes sometimes that are rookie-ish.

Don't even get me started on the goalie thing. Too frustrating to talk about. If you're going to platoon goalies and your number one is playing barely over .500, you're not going far.

So, do you do anything  before the trade deadline? Vatanen or Dumba to shore up the D or rent a goalie?

This team still desperately needs another reliable scoring option, a stay-at-home defender and a goaltender.  Mrazek is too inconsistent to be the starter and Reimer, while better in recent months than Mrazek, isn't the horse I wanna hitch my wagons to for a playoff run.

I with you, something just feels like it is missing from this team. Hamilton is a big deal, but after watching Faulk the other night, maybe he was the missing link. I don’t know something is just missing.

    • I went on a solo elk hunt in the Flat Tops. It was awesomely miserable. LOL It was a late season hunt, I think third season and it was forecasted to snap off cold with highs in the upper thirties and lows in the single digits. fug it, I'm going anyway. They were wrong. The highs were in the low 20s and the lows were in the negative teens. I shivered so hard the first night I thought my teeth were going to break. It was the only time I've ever been legit concerned that I might be in trouble. Crawled out of my sleeping bag and got a fire started and suffered through the night bundled up next to the fire. I slept the next two nights literally wearing every stitch of clothing I'd brought with Nalgenes full of near boiling water in the bottom of my sleeping bag. That was the only way to have non-frozen water in the morning anyway. There was about a foot of snow on the ground and the melt/freeze crust was almost enough to support your weight but you'd go crashing through just as you went or make your step. It was exhausting travel and every step sounded like a rifle shot. Hunting was basically impossible. I never saw an elk in those four days, only saw 5-6 deer. LOL It was brutal but I loved it. Absolutely beautiful country that is never been to before and haven't been back since. I needed that four day complete break from society fighting for my life against the elements. I'm weird like that.
    • The lack of production is especially surprising given how much effort the team put into coaxing the best from him.  In just six short years he’s had the opportunity to work with 3 different GMs, 7 different head coaches and 10 different starting quarterbacks.  There’s literally no excuse to be made that one of those combos didn’t work.  It might be time to look withIAN.
    • I would say maybe 8 in a tier by themselves and all but 2 where picked in the top of the first allen pat m stroud burrow jackson hurts (maybe) Herbert Stafford
