Well we were talking about pain specifically. I guess I shouldn't have assumed no one would be confused by what I meant.

Epidiolex is not yet on the market. All FDA approval means it that the benefits MIGHT outweigh the risks, and frankly we won't know what the results will be.

Also calling it an anti seizure med is VERY misleading. It has two incredibly rare, specific indications.

You were the one that made the all encompassing statement. It has two incredibly rare, specific indications involving seizures, hence anti-seizure.

I have some unique insight on the FDA, USDA, etc. from a previous employer albeit from the veterinary side, not the human side. It's truly alarming how much of a puppet those industries and "regulatory agencies" are of the dominant large players, at least on the veterinary side though I doubt the human side is really all that different.

Based on my experience, I'll have a hard time putting much stock into a USDA or FDA report on pet food ever again.

Again, I apologize. If I had known you were going to read the thread I would have spoken more simply.

And not really. calling something an anti seizure med is based on its mechanism of action. Those are your valpro, mag sulf, etomidate etc. just because it might do something for a vanishingly small portion of the population doesn't mean it's in that class of drugs.

and of course we don't actually know it does that because it's not on the market.

propofol has anti seizure properties and is last line if someone is refractory but of course you wouldn't call it an anti seizure med.

and again the main reason cannabinoids are kinda unknown is because no one (except for like one facility in louisiana of all places) has been allowed to do any research on them.

tons of cool poo will come from it but at this point it's 99% dumb stoners doing chemistry in their basement. just not really useful medically.

all this said i had a 27 year old once who overdosed in the woods and blew out his kidneys.

every night his girlfriend would "wheel him around to see the hospital" where they'd go to the loading dock and just smoke up.

none of the nursing staff cared because that was the only time he wasn't hitting the call light every four minutes and we all kinda silently agreed to turn a blind eye lmao

yeah they should treat their pain with a crippling opioid addiction instead.

no they should smoke weed and lose their multi million job instead and have a criminal record then take it one step further and drive around in his car high as well and have weed on him

I get what you’re saying but we all have to live with stupid rules and work around them.

No reason you have to become a stupid person just because you have to follow stupid rules and justify the said stupid rules in place

Whether it’s legal or not is irrelevant, as long as you play in the NFL they control the ban substance list for the players. It’s crazy he can have this on record and hasn’t been at the very least subjected to a drug screening and therefore suspended like they’ve done with Gordon many times.
