speaking of Cam's play early on....we all talk about the shoulder and the foot.

But we can't forget, Cam is also use to Kalil handling all calls and business at the line.  Cam probably has depended on his C more than any other vet QB in the NFL.  And Cam even spoke about how greatly he missed Kalil right before the season started.

Kalil got benched with the Jets, supposedly. Looks like maybe they were dependent on each other...

but you can get the right center outside of the first round or cheaply in free agency, more so than other positions.

How many of the top ranked centers were 1st picks?  I think Brady has done ok with mid round guys.

I think this fan base might view centers a little different than most because of the success we did have with Kalil.   Still doesn't change the fact thought that its a position that you can get good productions from later in the draft or cheaper than in free agency relative to other positions.

Of course there are always exceptions.

Yes, I understand the perception of draft value, but when the right one goes to another team, it is capital not spent, but lost. The right guy, whenever picked, is always of great value. The wrong guy will always haunt you.

My contention is that the heirarchy of value LT, RT, G, C for linemen is actually quite skewed. It should probably read LT, C, RT, LG, RG.

Very good read. I love hearing Luke's perspective because he is, obviously, a student of the game, and he does a good job of breaking down his opponents.

I think Kamara just has a natural instinct for how to use impact to his advantage and "flow" with the momentum that others bring to the chaos. He's not rigid in what he tries to do with the ball. He let's the unfolding play guide his path. I hate the Saints, but I love watching Kamara work.

Similarly with Russell Wilson. He may be a bit of a unique dude in his personal life, but on the field he is an absolute competitor, and just has incredible natural instincts. Truly a special player that I never tire of watching, except when playing the Panthers, lol. He has a total on-field awareness at the QB position that may be the best I've ever seen. And the touch he puts on some of his throws is on a level all his own.
