Quick thread on high-level aspects of Cam Newton's play first two weeks

Again, I like what I’ve seen so far from Kyle Allen, and that’s where the bus stops for me

this speculation about cam’s health,Allen being his replacement, is cam mentality no longer focused on Football to his attire has a lot of posters sounding like Jason Whitlock and Cowherd clones

Cam really is getting the lebron treatment, as soon as he gets injured it’s time to launch a full assault on his character and play, same thing happen to lebron the first year in his 15 year career that he missed over 10 games, short sighted is a light way to put it

Cam Newton has always been underrated in his ability to read the field, make audibles and process the game. And the only reason for that is because he's black and people attribute the way he speaks and articulates things as the same thing as intelligence. They are not always related. One's ability to tow the line and be articulate to the press has no bearing on someones ability to understand patterns and complex concepts. The subtle racism in the media over the years and more recently in some of the fan base has been totally disgusting.

Cam's not a running QB and he's a not a " One Read Guy" like Colin Cowherd likes to say.  Cam is a bigger and more athletic Brett Favre. That's his game to the T.

That said I like Allen's play so far too. Bottom line I want us to win games. It wouldn't be bad thing to have two good QB's if we're lucky.  The team has rallied and Kyle has made some nice plays. I am excited to see how Cam takes this rest period. Maybe there are things he can gain from watching someone else work the offense while he heals.

What?! What’s not objective about comparing 30 year MVP franchise QB to 23 year old UDFA back up?

Exactly. Then cherry pick plays to illustrate what the OP thinks already instead of allow the facts to inform his opinion. I would think as a Panther fan you would root for whoever is playing and for whoever needs to heal and hopefully return instead of pitting one against the other.

Teams right now have 2 (3 if you count the Saints game) game tapes to see what Kyle Allen's tendencies are.  They are leaning on the fly what he likes to do and what he has problems with.  Teams have 8 years of Cam's tapes to check out and see what he can and can't do.  Wait until he has at least 4 or 5 games to see how defenses adjust and how Kyle deals with it to see if he is ready to be a high level starter right now or not.

If Cam is going to start against the 49'ers on October 27th.....

....when will he need to start practicing in order to be 100% healthy and 100% prepared?

Seems like 2 weeks minimum would be in order, no?

That would imply Cam hits the practice field next week at some point.

How we feeling about that?

I don’t know enough about his injury to know if it’s too soon or not. I would just be damn sure it’s not too soon if I were making decisions in that building.

Or, if I were Cam Newton.

The team is in a good rhythm right now. In terms of Cam’s return, you have to make that decision 100% around his health and his health alone. You can’t factor in emotions, you can’t even factor in what the team’s record is. Be 100% sure that medically he’s healed as possible.

So if he's 99% it's a no go?

99.4%, and send his ass out there!

No, I just mean let’s get it right this time. Again, I’m not the doctor, so I’m just talking out my ass here. But I would think it would be wise to give him as much time as possible.

I hear ya bro....

My guy tells me NFW he starts against 49'ers after the BYE week.

If he was gonna do so he wud have start practicing some time in the next 5 days.   Is he doing so?

The truth is, the guy has gone underground....basically disappeared as it regards to being involved in team activities and such....dude is MIA.

No player goes from MIA to starting in less than 3-weeks....just ain't happening.

At the very best he starts against the Saints on 11/24....

....highly doubtful.
