Daley at LT?

Maybe Daley can play LT, who knows, but we better have a backup plan if this fails, i.e. Moton at LT, Williams at RT.

Oh I don’t know about the rest of you, but I have a backup plan worked out and locked in that I can execute to perfection. It’s complicated and there are a lot of moving parts but basically it involves screaming obscenities at the tv, threatening anyone and everyone from gm down to hot dog vendor and then shrewdly kicking expensive things I paid for.

But I’m a professional, don’t try this at home kids.

We're already doing that. We need a better plan.

I think the problem is that if you move Moton to LT then you are just shifting the problem from one side to the other. Yes, we need a pass blocker on the blind side, but we also need a run blocker on the right side. Giving up Moton's strength and ability on the right might very well be disastrous to CMC, particularly when it comes to getting him out into the right flat for quick reads from the QB.

In addition, it's outmoded to think that the left side always gets the best pass rusher in today's league. Most teams have monsters at both ends of the line.

Fix one problem, not create a host of others by reshuffling.

Soooo

We put a guy who's strength is run blocking

Played well at RT

Never really played LT

Looked like a turnstile

Openly admitted he's more right side dominant

We put that guy at LT instead just to leave Moton at LT.  The guy we've had no problem moving around leading to this season, was topd to learn to play LT as well.  And looked solid at his short stint there?

And now instead of moving Moton there.  We are now considering a Fugging 5th round OG to play there.  Just to keep Williams at RG (see above openly admitting more comfortable and dominant on right side).

Im not a football coach, but its frustrating watching staff litterally force and try to jam the square peg in the round whole.  While they have a round ball thay can fit both sitting in their pocket

Greg Cosell was on from NFL films on WFNZ a little bit after Voth.  He said he did some work on Daleywhen he was still in college. He really likes Daley. But he thinks he’s awful raw. But does say he does have the traits to be a decent left tackle. His technique needs a lot of brushing up on.

I don’t get it. I mean, Williams was really good at RT before he got hurt. I’m not sure post injury who’s better there between him and Moton, but I sure as poo know who’s better at LT between him and Moton.

The way the coaching staff has handled it, they seem to think Williams can’t even compete with Moton at RT, which given what we’ve seen of him there I don’t think is true. What if Williams is the best RT we have?

No LT....no problem.  Just go to an unbalanced line with 22 personnel and 2 RTs and run like hell to the right. The TE chips, the FB blocks and we go from there.  Won’t happen but it would sure surprise the Jags for a while, like the Steelers did the Bengals with the wildcat this w/e.

Yeah, that's actually a better option right now to put the other guy in rather than move Moton. The coaches seem to think that, and they see these guys every day in practice, know how well they know the play book, have actually sat down and talked with the players, watched tape, scouted the other team, checked with the QBs to check comfort levels and scoured the league for potential replacements.

But you, you've watched a couple of sports shows, maybe listened to the hot takes on some radio call in show and know more than the coaching staff? Yeah...

The same coaching staff that thought Byron Bell was good, Nate Chandler could switch from DL to OL, Amini Silatolu was better than Andrew Norwell and no changes were needed going into the Super Bowl?

Yeah, can't imagine why anybody wouldn't have full confidence in them.

These things are all true and yet time and again under Ron we've watched injuries expose the fact that we weren't playing our best football players when everyone was healthy, so what does that say?
