Meh. It sucks at the moment. But if Little's talent is truly as promising as his play against the Texans suggested, long term he may still be a valuable member of the team. Curtis Samuel basically didn't play his rookie year at all, but that 2nd round pick is looking pretty good right now, wouldn't you say?

Little has been great the last two games. He’s a rookie. He will be the LT for the next 10 yr.

Eh....Samuel is fine. I do think his hype has been pretty overblown. Little I am very concerned about. His talent was obvious but 2 concussions in four games is a HUGE concern. HUGE.

Samuel is overrated as hell. He has improved but I dont think he will even be a legit number 2 at all. He body catches 110 percent of his catches. We passed up quite of bit of pretty dayum good receivers for Samuel.

I would agree with that, as I thought he was gonna be a pure bust. Now that I have seen him show such obvious talent/abilities, it sucks 100x worse to see him get this second concussion.

The concussions suck but little will be the LT for this franchise for a very long time. In just two games, he has been the best LT since Jordan Gross. Kudo to Hurney.

Samuel's current pace projects to over 800 yards receiving for the season. That doesn't qualify as a legit number 2 receiver to you? If not what does?

As far as all those receivers we passed up, looking at current production for this season, out of a draft class of 30 wide receivers in 2017, 4 were drafted before Samuels and therefore couldn't be ones that we passed up when we had the option to draft Samuels. Out of the 25 drafted after Samuels, based on production so far this season I will grant you 3 that seem like they would have been better choices:

Ju Ju Schuster Smith

Cooper Kupp

Chris Godwin

Kenny Golladay seems like he's performing statistically at about the same level as Samuels. That leaves 21 out of 25 receivers drafted after Samuels that I would argue he's outperforming this season. 14 of the WR drafted after Samuels aren't even still in the league. So could we have done better? When you look at the seasons Kupp and Godwin are having, sure we could have done better, but I don't think there's some large number of receivers drafted after Samuels who were better options.

btw of the 4 receivers drafted ahead of him, he's clearly outperforming Zay Jones, and is neck and neck with Corey Davis and Mike Williams. Only John Ross, drafted 9th overall is having a clearly better season than Samuels.

Juju and Golladay are  #1 wr on their teams. Kupp and Godwin could be #1 on a lot of other teams. Idc if Samuel is on pace for 800yd. Today’s nfl, that is the typical norm for wide receivers. I have not seen Samuel take over a game and I dont expect too. I like him but I dont love him. And, I dont see us paying him after his contract is up.

Basically I view the pick today as we didn't screw it up because he's doing about as well as should be expected, but there were 3 guys we could have had who as of this moment look like they would have been better picks. Since he's a 2nd rounder we have until the end of next season before his contract is up. Unless there's a FA receiver out there we think would be a clear upgrade at not much extra cost, i'd pay him market value based on what he's doing so far but nothing more. To me some of the value of resigning a guy who's decent but not spectacular is that you don't have to spend draft capital on his replacement or pay the premium you almost always wind up paying when you sign a FA, who then has to learn your playbook, develop chemistry with your qb, etc etc.
