Camstans? Are we won't this team to be the best it can be? Thats with Cam, its damn sure not with Kyle Allen. Hitch your wagon to Kyle Allen if you want to. Kyle's ceiling is Andy Dalton.

I was just about to say this. If you guys are ok with Andy Dalton then keep starting Kyle. I personally have seen what a healthy Cam can do and I will continue to take that 11 times out of 10 over Andy freaking Dalton and that is all Allen will ever be.

Fumbles obviously need tightened up

But he had a 95 QBR.

This team is a Superbowl contender with this defense with a consistent 95 QBR under center.

Against bad teams and bad coaches. He'd get exposed quickly by good playoff teams, and news flash the only playoff teams we've played this year are the Rams and Bucs.

his performance was bad minus one spin move on Watt though. He fumble three times, literally every time he was sacked. He did just enough not to lose (game manager). If our D didn't show up to that game or Watson hit one or both of those deep shots we lose. Kyle is a great backup and that's ok. That means we can win games starting him as long as our D shows up. But all I'm saying is we have been spoiled by Cam who constantly was winning games in spite of coaching or the defense. I just don't see Kyle having that ability. Cam, when healthy, has the ability to carry rosters and that is why you start a healthy Cam 11/10 times. You do not see QB controversy in New Orleans. You should not be seeing it here.

You don't see a QB controversy in New Orleans because Drew Brees has been the most accurate QB in the league forever and Teddy Bridgewater has been pretty awful. His best game he's had this year he's thrown for 6.6 yards per pass which is worse than Allen's worst game.

And I'm sorry, but I still have to come back to you saying his performance was "bad". His passer rating against Houston was 89.3 which is higher than Cam's average career passer rating of 86.1. You're underselling the Watt play too: if Cam had done that, that would have been one of the 10 best plays of Cam's career. It absolutely won the game for us. When you're doing things like that in your 3rd start in a career where you haven't lost, you deserve to stay out there until you have a bad performance.

If our defense hadn't played lights out and the Texans had done a better job of converting those turnovers to points y'all would he singing a different tune on Allen.

Play your best football players, period. Healthy Cam Newton is our best QB, period.

I swear it really cannot be this hard for some of you to understand. Linville's take is perfect.

Who were these people saying Houston was bad before Sunday? Besides our game, they're one play vs. the Saints away from being undefeated. And they're still tied for first in their division even today.

One question though. If it was just foot that was injured why did he overthrow the receivers by so much?  I have a feeling we are still not getting the full picture.

Most people don't seem to understand how critical the feet are to throwing accuracy. You throw with your entire body, not just your arm. It starts with your foot position, travels up through your hips/core to your shoulders and down the throwing arm. If you can't plant because your feet are in pain, and you try to overcompensate by throwing harder, your touch on the ball suffers immensely. That seems to be what's happening with Cam.

Saying the Texans aren't a playoff team is premature.  Time will tell.  They are tied for their division now. Had they won that game, they'd have been alone atop the division and tied for 3rd best record in the afc.

I also am not sold on either the Bucs or Rams this year...

Cam couldn't stay healthy for more than two preaseason games after like 8 months off but after sitting 6 weeks he's totally going to be healthy the rest of the season.

Oh, and to do so he will continue not to run and instead rely on his accuracy from the pocket.  Okay.

If we had someone as consistent as Kyle we would have been 4-0. Did u see what Bucs did to CMC since they knew Cam is done.

What's frustrating is that we can't just accept Kyle Allen for what he is. A competent back up. Any sign of quarterback competency outside of Cam and they want him to take over. I don't recall anyone here fighting for Joe Webb to take the reigns...

Most backup QBs should be able to come in and not lose games. Thats what they get paid to do. But anyone who watched the play calling in that game it became very clear that Norv and Ron were afraid to throw the ball at times.

Kyle Allen isn't going to put the team on his back when everyone else isn't playing well. He needs everyone around him to lift him up. Thats the difference. It's why Alex Smith lost his job to CK7 and then to Pat. It's why Nick Foles won a Super Bowl and still couldn't keep the starting job. There are levels to this poo.
