Speculation is Cam will start after the bye.

Makes sense.  He will have missed 4 games and roughly 6.5 weeks.  I would think had they not thought he would be back around then they would have opted for IR.

I think everyone's concern will be his conditioning, both physical and mental (i.e. being up to processing at game-speed).

We need him back truly at 100% and able to do the things in the passing and running game we are used to seeing.

We really can't afford Cam the time to "knock off rust" once he returns.

Our first game back is at SF (currently the only unbeaten NFC team) in what will be a hostile environment.  The schedule doesn't get easier from that point on through the end of the year playing the Saints.

Cam is one of the most competitive guys in the league. Mentally, I feel like he’ll come back laser focused after the BS spewed by the fan base and the rest of the league. I feel like he’ll eclipse 2015 and the first half of 2018. We’re in a fun year. I hope everyone so down on Cam on here doesn’t feel an ounce of enjoyment from the team this year once he comes back.

This is still speculation at this point. No telling if Cam will be  pain free and in football shape to get that foot stomped or twisted by opponents who will take advantage of any injury. Regardless of record it is important Cam is truly 100%.

Yep.  No question about it.

And Rivera should be thankful Kyle Allen's play is affording him the opportunity to do that b/c I don't think Tepper is going to accept any excuses this year.

And I'm thankful for Cam he's hopefully not going to feel pressure to come back sooner.

No one will know for sure b/c I'm sure Cam will never say, but I do wonder how much pressure there has been on Cam in the past to play hurt.

The fact Cam seemed to finally pull himself out this time and felt compelled to share more medical info on social media makes you wonder.

What Cam is doing is ultimately for everyone's best interest long-term, but I wonder if he finally felt like he had to stand up for himself b/c the coaches and medical staff just assumed (and have been willing) to let him play hurt to try to save their own jobs.  Being the competitor he is, I'm sure he hasn't wanted to admit to himself he's hurt.  But he also might be questioning the coaches motives at this point.

Ultimately, the NFL is a business, and the situation for Cam and Rivera may be starting to diverge for this first time since they came in together.  Cam has to think about putting himself in the best situation for his next long-time contract.  Rivera has to be all about the short-term this year, or there won't be a next year.  Rivera has to win this year, with or without Cam, and the longer that time stretches, the more Rivera has to question if Cam is the right QB.

People talk about whether or not the team wants to resign Cam (and it's a valid question), but on the flip side, who knows if Cam is comfortable with the current regime.

The inherent trust both had in each other may be starting to erode.  It's not a knock on either, just that things aren't the same as they were 9 years ago, and what's best for one may no longer be best for the other.

I think he is mentally done. It just feels more like he is going through the motions. He is not the same, swag and drip QB we have seen the last 8 years.

Stick a thumbtack in your shoe and walk around for a little bit. See if you can display that swag after 20 ft.

One question though. If it was just foot that was injured why did he overthrow the receivers by so much?  I have a feeling we are still not getting the full picture.

Because he can’t fully step into his throw because of his foot? Just a thought .

Before you criticize a man, walk a mile in his shoes. That way, if he gets angry, he's a mile away and barefoot.

Sir, as I am sending this to Cam, I hope you truly a mile away and barefoot.  And maybe still in your basement.

1. you know this, how?

2. nah, this is Cam's team sorry pal

Firstly, if Allen wins 4 games in a row after the team started 0-2, you can’t bench him. Play him till he sucks. Just gives Cam more time to get healthy.

Secondly, will Cam ever be healthy? He had an entire offseason to get his body in order then hurt his foot after like 8 freaking plays against the Patriots in the preseason. That’s not a good sign.
