We missed out on 10 points alone in the first quarter against the defending champions in the Rams and still almost won it. As for the Bucs, did you see what they did to that same Rams team in LA? We also could have and should have beaten them.

It's impossible to know if Allen would have led us to victory in the first two games. Odds wouldn't be in his favor because Greg Little was in the concussion protocol and left tackle was not looking good at that time to say the absolute least. But again there is no way to know, and attempting to blame Newton for dealing with an injury and playing is just petty and stupid. There's no way around that.

so now i'm stupid for being upset cam lied to the trainers, coach, teammates, and fans.   cool.  i also saw the giants beat the bucs.  cam sucked up the rams and bucs game, no way around that.   its starting to look like cam is the problem with time management also.   but what do i know, i'm stupid.  i do like how you changed the discussion from hiding and lying about an injury to 'dealing' with it.  that seems more like what stupid people do when they have no argument with merit.  now, don't you have a fan base to criticize?

What I see most people saying is see where KA and the team is when Cam finally gets healthy. Don't rush him back. Let him finally be 100%. When that time comes, evaluate the two and decide who is the better option to start. Just keep an open mind and do what's in the best interest of the team, whatever that may be.

Hey how about pull up a game where Cam had 3 or more turnovers and still won the game. I will be waiting awhile, that's because he would still be on the sideline :crying:. Allen don't let stuff bother him that's the kind of QB u want.

i've never thought you were a cam only fan.   they do exist here.  i hope you realize i'm not anti-cam.  i'm only intermittently angry with him now for costing us 2 games, unlike when his vid dropped and i was pissed off as hell.

Cam didnt cost us 2 games outright, stop with the ignorant reach. Did his injuries affect the ability to help us win? Yes, but rams put up 30 points on us some off costly turnovers and if we simply QB sneaked the ball against the bucs we still could have won despite cams play. Too take the last  2 games and form the conclusion of "WeLl wE wOuLD Be 4-0 RiGhT NoW If It WaSnt FoR CaM"  is about as hogwash as it gets.  Every game is different based on who is playing makes even more complicated. This just like the stupid narratives the national media talking heads come up with cuz they dont play close attention to the team.

I find it hilarious the same posters bitching about winning a “meaningless” game week 16 last year and the same group that wanted Allen cut for heincke are the same ones throwing the Allen parade around here.

im glad we are winning, but I’m also glad fans don’t have a say in this since that’s all you guys want to look at is W/L and throw all subjectivity out the window. If we run the qb sneak vs Tampa and Moore doesn’t fumble/do a shitty job of recovering a fumble we probably are not having this convo, which is bad cause that means cam would probably be playing injured thinking 70% of him is good enough to get this team in the playoffs.

You want your backup to come in and win, he’s doing that, 3 game sample size is not enough of a resume to replace a Healthy Cam Newton. I just find it funny how we just going to blindly look at the last 8-9 games and blame qb play for the reason we loss majority of those games......

Did you ever play sports? It's the mentality of an athlete. You're invincible. You can play through anything. If you don't have that mindset your labeled as soft. If you think Cam is the only player to ever downplay an injury to try to keep playing you're badly mistaken.

we couldn't qb sneak because cam couldn't, you know.  and cam sucked those games up bad. you don't care he lied about and hid his injuries and it cost us a chance at 2 very winnable games - cool.  i do.

The players will also influence who leads

let’s not  forget many of these contracts have performance bonus in them

they are not going to support a perpetually, injured player who has a large hand in their paychecks and or their desire to get playoff bonus miney

its a team  sport but it’s also a business

all the scenarios of ‘if this, then that’ have been discussed but the players’ perception of situations and how those situations are handled are large

yes i did.  and no i don't think he is, but he literally couldn't throw the ball worth shite.  he couldn't run the ball worth shite.  he couldn't play qb worth a shite and i expect him to be honest when its that bad.  its a team sport and when you're gonna hurt your team by playing you need to be enough of a team player to admit it.  he didn't.   it was selfish in a negative way.   this is how i feel about it.  i don't care how other people do.    this is why he said he needed to look himself in the mirror - because he screwed up and knows it  -  and it didn't cost just him, it cost the whole team.

I'd agree, though I'd add that player loyalty is a tricky thing.

Guys on the team loved Jake and still supported him even after it was pretty obvious he was done.

It's up to the coach to see that. Yeah, Cam realizes he should've owned up to the extent his injuries were impacting his play in hindsight but that's just not an athlete's mindset in the present.
