Speculation is Cam will start after the bye.

The real dicotomy seems to be between those who say that Cam is our franchise guy and once he is healthy he should start and everything will be fine versus those who question if Cam will ever be 100% healthy and will he be able to be the dual threat quarterback that he used to be. The interesting thing is whether bringing him back this season will hurt or help him.  If he comes back and balls out, everyone is happy. But what if he struggles? Is it still rust? Is he still hurt? Will he every come back and be 100%? What if he keeps switching back and forth between throwing motions still  making those WTF throws? What if he still bails under pressure and keep taking sacks?

The problem is there are lots of unknowns. I would rather we wait until we know he is 100% and what we are getting is his best before we put him out there. Otherwise it isn't fair to him. And he will have a relatively short rope once he goes back in. A few more bad games and his career here is done. I don't think he will be ready by week 8 unless he really wasn't that hurt to begin with. Lisfranc recovery is not easy and chances of reinjury are real. .

Remarks about Kyle Allen's hand size warrants a personal rebuttal from the huddle brass, yet these not even thinly veiled remarks about Newton's clothing, dedication to football, film study habits, leadership, and pretty much anything else they can think of are fair game. Not very consistent.

a lot of the cam or die fans came on board after jake.   they haven't been thru this before.   its hard as hell and i don't blame them at all.

THIS.

Montana ---> Young, Favre ---> Rodgers, P. Manning ---> Luck type situations are extremely rare. Most teams go through a period of floundering after losing a franchise QB.

No I am convinced he is finished and alot of people notice it not just me. Truth hurts.

Why do so many people on the internet struggle so mightily distinguishing between their opinion and fact? Time will tell if Cam is "done", but it's far from a fact right now. You act as if he wasn't putting up great numbers last season before TJ Watt drilled him directly in his throwing shoulder and he could barely throw a football after that. You act like he's been straight trash since '15. You're painting the picture that you want to see.

I think every reasonable fan is concerned about Cam and his future with the injuries, but good grief man.

why do people keep saying this? his last game he has 0 TDs and 3 sack fumbles lost. that is not momentum. that is not a hot hand. if cam is healthy week 8 than at best kyle allen strings together three good performances by then.

you gonna keep the former MVP on the bench over three good performances?

you might, but the coaches won't and neither would anyone else thinking clearly.

Because we dont know for certain when Cam is coming back. It may be after the bye, it may be 4 weeks after the bye, we just dont know. Its speculation at this point.

I just said "IF" he is playing well, you go with the hot hand. Sunday wasnt pretty. It was less than spectacular. It was just enough. It's more than just about stats though. IF the offense has found its rhythm, IF the o-line has its timing down, IF, IF, IF.

Theres a lot of things that would need to go right in order for KA to keep playing over Cam. But to just say this is Cams team when he gets back no matter how KA is performing is just foolhardy.

Evaluate everything when Cam is healthy, and I mean really healthy, not the sorta version we are used to seeing from Ron, and then make the decision, whether that's week 8,week 12, or week whatever.

no franchise in the NFL is going to play the hottest hand over the best player.

god that would be amazing. kyle allen just needs to crack a few Ws between now and then and we're sitting pretty.

But if we get to the Week 8 Bye without losing another game, that would mean Kyle is undefeated as a starter. Do you really hand the reigns back to Cam with that result?

Of course it's a team sport and all credit should not be given to one player nor should all blame be put on one player.

There’s no changing of the guard yet though. The only people who are ready to move on from Cam are the fans who wanted DA start every time Cam got sacked or had an incompletion.

Also, miss me with the post-Delhomme fan talk. I don’t think there was a fan more excited about a change than I was during the Moore/Clausen days. There’s a huge difference between 2009 Delhomme and 2019 Cam.

It's not about the best player, it's about the best option in the current situation. If that option is Cam, then start him at QB. If not, then you dont.

Cam plays a slow game. If the rest of the team is really clicking on a faster tempo to the huddle and the line, do you put Cam back in and slow it down?

There are a lot of things to consider moving forward. If Cam is truly the best option at QB for the entire team, then by all means, start him. If he's not, then a tough call is going to need to be made.
