Cam, ron rivera and the panthers have 3 out of 9 winning seasons.

Didnt know cam was the team and coaching staff.

I think that was a sub-conscious recognition by that dude that, yes, Cam Newton in pretty much all of the Rivera years but this one DID have to do it all, i.e. carry his moron coach and his team 100% of the time.

How can people watch the Panthers and not see this. Cam is the only reason Ron still has a job.

I was just about to say this. If you guys are ok with Andy Dalton then keep starting Kyle. I personally have seen what a healthy Cam can do and I will continue to take that 11 times out of 10 over Andy freaking Dalton and that is all Allen will ever be.

Saying Kyle Allen is Andy Dalton is every bit as premature as when people were saying Kyle Allen is Tom Brady. I know everything has to be instant analysis these days, but the reality is, its way to early too know what his ceiling or floor will be.

How about we see him get some modicum of protection first before you start calling him a pussy? Dude has always put his body on the line for this team regardless of if you hate the way he dresses, wish he never incompleted a pass or whatever your gripe is.

I didn't call him anything and griped about nothing.

There's this constant refrain of "he can only play when he is 100%" and I'm trying to undertand what the ground rules are surrounding that.

It is known that by the end of October pretty much every NFL player is playing with some sort of injury....put another way, none are 100%.

Is the expectation that Cam will only play when he is 100%, and sit out otherwise?  Or, will he play at less than 100% like every other NFL player does?

Are the expectarions on Cam the same as other NFL players or are there a separate set of Cam Rules?

Citation: "In the NFL, no one is truly healthy by the end of October."

The article is written by a former NFL player and it gives detailed examples of how two players (a WR and a QB) manage towards Sunday when playing hurt.

It's a good read, check it out.

Great post.

Cam-or-die squaders love to move the goalpost on this.  If it's not "rust", it's not being "100%", which apparently isn't even possible after a measly two preaseason games, but is supposed to happen at age 30+ playing the back half of a regular season and possible playoffs?  Sure.

Just like Romo towards the end.  These health situations get worse, not better.  Cam hasn't played at peak health and run the ball in over two years, didn't really last year -- and still got injured halfway through the season -- didn't in the preaeason and first two games -- and still got injured, again, after 8 months off -- and we're supposed to listen to posters who either have agendas and/or are just plain delusional tell us it's an anomaly and he really will come back fully healthy and play like the Cam of old.

Allen was a UDFA practice squader. If he went on to have Andy Dalton's career that would be a wild success story.
