No doubt.

Do you think it was a good idea though?

We needed to do that after signing McCoy to give us a cushion that we can just rollover to next year right? In that context I don’t think it’s a huge deal. We obviously really need McCoy right now.

Biggest problem with Shaq, is he got paid well above his worth this year. Thankfully at least he has played above expectations. If he made $9M this year, would he settle for say a $7M average with is more in line with his position? Regardless, Bradberry has to be the first priority, upper tier CBs are much harder to find.

Shaq is playing great football. Think ya should've left you.comment to yourself.

There is absolutely no reason why both can't be retained.

Bradberry is more important to us. It's hard to find good corners. We already have several players similar to Shaq. Would hate to lose either

Basically, we could draft a replacement at ILB not so much CB.

Yep. If Shaq keeps this up, he'll be a HOT commodity this off-season.

Rivera said the Panthers decided to get more athletic on defense in the offseason because of the way offenses have evolved, and after watching the Patriots in the playoffs. “Watching what Bill Belichick did, I kept thinking to myself ‘God, you have to put as many athletes up front in your front four—or five or six or seven—to chase down these guys,’” Rivera said.

No, we didn't.  McCoy signed a month before these moves were made.

If we need cushion at any point during the season you make that move then, not in the offseason....and tell us it's for next year.

It simply didn't need to be done, and now it makes it harder to cut KK in the offseason than it otherwise should have been.  Just not a smart move.

It actually doesn’t make cutting him any harder at all. Say we saved $8M for this year and don’t use it. That’s $8M we can rollover into next year. The cost of cutting KK next year is $8M, the amount we moved forward into future years, more than it would have been. They offset each other and we have a net of $0 in lost cap space.

the topic was based on who would you choose if you had to pick one or the other and i said he is playing above expectations. maybe read before you jump the gun hotshot.

There is a little bit less than a zero % chance this would happen.

Bradberry for sure should have been signed in the offseason, that is a Hurney blunder.  Now both he and Shaq will be quite a bit more expensive, and are likely licking their chops for free agency.

Bradberry's value is the same as it was in the offseason. Only the fans looked down upon him.

They weren't going to extend Shaq for the money that he'd demand without seeing him starting for a full season.

Find some.other reason to bitch about Hurney. Hell, just make up some more poo, see what sticks.

You clearly stated you felt Shaq is being over paid. Regardless of your feeling, that is incorrect.

As far as the topic, yes, elite CBs are harder to find.

You just gonna do that huh?

Been saying for a LONG time that we needed to extend Bradberry.  I keep getting hit with responses of "he has to take a team friendly deal", or "he isn't elite, where are the PICKS", or whatever stupid poo people used to say about him on here.

Hurney made another blunder this offseason.  Didn't get Bradberry under contract, and then kicked the can on the TT and KK deals....just like Hurney 1.0 did.

Sometimes things never change.

Sorry fuzz, I trust your word too. I can not believe I forgot @tiger7_88 and you, cause 99% of the huddle did not care for bradberry. Need to bump one the bradberry threads and laugh at the comments.
