One Franchise tag.....Shaq and Bradberry who do you choose?

Luke helps our linebackers look good. He calls the plays out and puts them in positions to succeed. He is like a second coach on the field. Carter has looked solid in his limited roles as well. With Mike Thomas, Evans and Julio all in our division I think a solid corner is vital. I love Shaq, but would go with JB here.

Hurney 2.0 may have cost the panthers cap space with his handling of Bradberry and Shaq.

Both are playing at a high level, pro-bowl level. Id even say Shaq has played just as well as Luke.

The huddle always had some sort of weird terrible opinion on Bradberry. @LinvilleGorge @tiger7_88 and me where about the only ones defending him on the reg. His price has gotten higher with time he handcuffs a stud WR.

I hope both are panthers for another 5 years.

Shaq got it worse. This same topic came up in the offseason and most of the huddle couldn’t wait to get him off the books.

You just gonna do that huh?

Been saying for a LONG time that we needed to extend Bradberry.  I keep getting hit with responses of "he has to take a team friendly deal", or "he isn't elite, where are the PICKS", or whatever stupid poo people used to say about him on here.

Hurney made another blunder this offseason.  Didn't get Bradberry under contract, and then kicked the can on the TT and KK deals....just like Hurney 1.0 did.

Sometimes things never change.

I think there is something to be said about the decision to let Bradberry and Shaq play out the last year of their rookie contract so we can align our immediate needs from them on the field with their last chance to prove themselves to the league for a big contract.  If we want to win a Super Bowl this year we need Bradberry to play like the best corner in the league. Our interests align with his to play the best he ever has so he can get an enormous contract.  Same with Shaq.  This year we need Shaq to play as good or better than TD. This is his last year to prove to the league that he is worth a huge contract.

Bradberry is more important to us. It's hard to find good corners. We already have several players similar to Shaq. Would hate to lose either

Shaq is much better than Carter or any other player we have backing him up. We need to keep both Shaq and Bradberry. I think Bradberry is worth more money, based on his play, than Shaq. I also believe Shaq could be kept around for league average rather than market setting cash.

Kicking the can is far, far different with cap rollover now than it was during Hurney’s first stint.

That's not how this works.

The smart teams lock up players while they still have a lot to risk.  You can get lower numbers by paying them early.  That's smart.

What we did with Bradberry....and to a lesser extent is something that dumb teams do.
