Shaq gonna get a deal in 15-18m a season range because of the play level, his ceiling and athleticism.  Bradberry gets a few more interceptions this season and talking about Josh Norman Money all of a sudden.

Nah.

I'm predicting Shaq is worth about $10-12M a year right now. If he keeps playing how he has at his highest points this season, he could push into the $14 per on a long deal range.

Bradberry is currently playing like an elite corner. He's been up and down here, but he's way up right now. He's worth around 10-12 a year too.

Inside linebackers historically don't make as much although Mosley's deal set an unfortunate precedent. I think you offer both fair market deals and assume someone bites and have the franchise tag available for whoever is holding out for a bigger deal. I would offer something close to the following:

Shaq: 5 years, 52.5 million, 35 guaranteed

Bradberry: 5 years, 65 million, 42 guaranteed

Good thing that hurney freed up some cash this off season.

Kawaan Short Post June 1st Cut: 6 mil dead cap, 14 mil cap savings

Cam Pre cut: 2 mil dead cap, 19 mil cap savings

KK is definitely gone. If Cam miraculously comes back and earns a restructure, they'll pay for it with KK's money. Otherwise he's gone too.

Bradberry is more important to us. It's hard to find good corners. We already have several players similar to Shaq. Would hate to lose either

Great point---Shaq has been ballin though.  He can cover slot WRs---not many ILBs can do that.

I think we sign them both--and Bradberry has been awesome.  We have a lot of cap room ahead.  I think we do this and wait a year on Cam......

I dont see KK being cut.

Cam still too early to know which course could happen, plus he should have trade value. Currently 20 million for starting QB is an super bargain, but is he capable of proving that?

So you're saying that next year this team will look very different?

In advance, I’ve been a big fan of both players since drafted (great job, NIPPLUS EXALTUS ULTIMUS ABSENTUS, GM God), so I have no personal bias towards either. Ultimately, want to keep both.

Also, I believe at the present time that Shaq is performing at a higher level of impact.

All that being said, I also believe that the two hardest positions in the NFL to fill with competent or better starting players are QB and CB.

So I’d go with Bradberry if I was forced to keep only one of the two.

Hurney 2.0 may have cost the panthers cap space with his handling of Bradberry and Shaq.

Both are playing at a high level, pro-bowl level. Id even say Shaq has played just as well as Luke.

The huddle always had some sort of weird terrible opinion on Bradberry. @LinvilleGorge @tiger7_88 @thefuzz and me where about the only ones defending him on the reg. His price has gotten higher with time he handcuffs a stud WR.

I hope both are panthers for another 5 years.

    • Yes.  And this converts directly to confidence.  Does the coach have confidence to call a deep dig or seam route?  Does Bryce have confidence in his ability to be the Alpha?  Do his teammates have confidence.  About film--when I see Cam Newton's pre-snap confidence vs. Bryce's, it is night and day.   Film--tells you if the WRs are open (why l love watching the Replay telecasts from the end zone cameras--you can see it.  I have seen 2 WRs open and Bryce's eyes are on the outlet WR or the pass rush. )  You can see progressions, and he has improved a bit--but he is very quick to rush through 1 and 2 and checkdown--that is a lack of confidence in his ability to read the defense.  I had a former NFL TE (Deems Maye) who played QB in high school (not sure about college) tell me that the best QBs read the defense by knowing where everyone will be when the ball is to arrive--not where they are.  I think his QB at the time was Humphries.  He said that Humphries would throw the ball into coverage before the cuts etc.  because he understood DB momentum, zone areas, etc.  and he could just see it.  Said so when people say nobody was open, they are usually right because nobody should be "open" when the QB has the ball--when the ball arrives, everyone should be open.  He said Humphries was never "great" but his skills were limited--from a small school--but his ability to read a defense made him never give up on a route.
