A healthy Cam or CMC who do you resign?

It really depends on how Allen progresses and the QB market.  If Cam isn’t 100% and Allen can fix his pocket awareness and develops, I have to say you sign CMC.  But if Cam is really healthy, he’s the obvious choice.  Not a position any GM wants to be in though.

This is short sighted.. you don't really pay a rb after the 5th year. After the 5th year you should be looking at new tired because after 5 years you have driven all the tread off the old ones. Even the Best backs have fallen victim to this and were seeing it play out with Gurely.. 

We are in uncharted waters with Cam we have never seen a raging duel threat power running qb. That said he should still be mobile enough to get yards if healthy hell even to an extent Frank Gore is still effective. Tho no who he use to be.. I use the comparison because hes playing well enough into his old age but still not ahold he use to be. You for the same with say cam.

Roll the dice on qb everytime because with rbs we have seen it time and time a gain look at our own Stewart..

CMC only has 2 years under his belt and I only give 4 year contracts.   CMC is a generational talent and a franchise running back, he will dominate for years to come.  What the "average" running back does is not relevant to CMC.

No way I "roll the dice" and pay a player who has broken down physically and is past his prime over a player who is in the best shape of his life and firing on all cylinders just as he enters the prime of his career.

This isn’t a fair take at all. CMC hasn’t shown anything to have to jump to the conclusion he’d be on IR. Sure as he gets older he’ll miss a game here or there but come on man he’s been a freak so far with production and health

I understand pause for concern over cmc’s workload BUT as he gets older and slows down he’s still gonna have value as a slot receiver. That’s why I’m not too concerned giving him a second contract.

The hard thing to evaluate is exactly what is a healthy 100% Cam at 30. A guy who can still run like he could at 25 or a guy who has to become a pocket passer and forego running unless he is under pressure.  The issue is many folks keep talking about an early 2018 version of Cam as 100% yet this was before more injuries. I can't see him us resigning him to an extension unless he can improve considerably as a pocket passer. I am afraid the days of Cam as a duel threat are largely gone as inevitable injuries take their toll. Those crunching head shots in 2015 and 2016 really took their toll.

Remember that CMC came out as a junior so he is really still young. Plus he got a ton of use in college and it hasn't seemed to slow him down. Too soon to worry yet but he seems to have not slowed down yet

that is actually an excellent point and might massively extend his playing career.

Todd Gurely  was a "Generational talent" Cam was a Generational talent, their  have been a few of those and time breaks them down just like the rest.. he isn't immune to the same pitfalls as everyone else. As far broken down you don't really know that yet. Has he been hobbled by the same injury that hobbled luck the same amount of time yes. 

The foot injury could be some freak random accident. U can't  beef up a foot just like Olsen. I don't think that makes him injury prone or broken down. Its wait and see.

This is bs.. during the same time period the same thing could have been said for cam. The exact same thing but the time and hits break down all.

2 facts.

CMC is 100% healthy.

Cam has not been healthy since 2015.

Ur letting emotion affect ur decsion making.

Question, if u were to re-sign Cam what wud the minimum be that u wud be comfortable asking him to play for?

PS...Christian IS a franchise running back.  Cam WAS a franchise QB.  Big difference.
