A healthy Cam or CMC who do you resign?

Its also not accurate. In 2004 Jake went 7-9 as a starter. In 2009 he went 4-7 in his 11 starts.

As much of a Jake fan I am, he’s played with some of the most talented offensives ever witnessed and still couldn’t get us the chip.

I weep knowing that 2008 offense was quite literally reduced to Jake’s performance against the Cards. I felt they could’ve taken Pittsburgh that year handily.

That’s irrelevant to the match up. 2003 had prime Steve Smith, Moose, Kris Jenkins, Peppers, Rucker in his prime, Stephen Davis in his prime, fresh Deshaun Foster, Dan Morgan, Will Witherspoon, Mike Minter, Deon Grant, all at their peak with a roided offensive line.

It just goes to show how much Cam was able to elevate the team in 2015.

So this proves my point. If you put a good team around an ok qb then you can obtain success. This was the original intent of the post. Resign Cam or CMC. If you sign both you cant field a decent team around those players. My vote is to keep CMC...keep Kyle at QB and maintain one hell of a D and improve the O line.

There is no wrong answer in this thread...everyone is entitled to their own opinion.

Jake had a losing season twice with the Panthers and I provided you the stats that show it, m’lady.

Doesnt matter. Overall the premise is...the success of each is comparable. Which is true...as evident by the fact that people right now are comparing them...which you are.

See? The goalposts keep moving. And I never said they couldn’t be compared. But Cam has accomplished things that Jake never did. And that can’t be disputed.

#FakeNews.

Records those years were 7-9 and 8-8.

Adds up to a single losing season.

With Jake in they had a losing record. So yes, he did have two losing seasons. The team then played better without him in and swung the record to 8-8 but with him in they were a losing team. You can’t give him credit for 16 games when he didn’t start 16 games.

I would like to point out that Matt Ryan won an mvp and lost the SB too...

So if Matt Ryan lost 8 straight..and the back up was winning games with a lights out tail back...you would resign Ryan?

If Tom Brady lost 8 in a row and the backup won 2 games against the Cardinals and Texans, while fumbling 4 times and losing all 4, and scoring 0 TDS in one of those wins, it wouldn’t stop me from signing Tom Brady.

Every other team in the league is capable of signing their QB and running back. We are too. That being said, I’ve never suggesting signing Cam Newton long term is a good move. Signing running backs long term doesn’t seem to be a good move in today’s NFL either. No contracts should be more than 3-4 years.

So you're saying 5-losing seasons with Cam at the helm and 2 with Jake?
