A healthy Cam or CMC who do you resign?

It's not like Newton hasn't also accomplished all of that.

He absolutely has.  That's not the argument.

The argument is...that Jake was an average QB that had a strong running game....and we pretty much accomplished the same results as a team that we have with QB1 back there.

There are more then one ways to skin a cat.

i think its insulting to both of them.  jake wasn't average.  cam is not average.

No Jake was sort of average from a physical talent perspective.  He was a good leader.  Both of them only had 3 or 4 winning seasons.

From a wins and loss perspective they're both a little above average.

Not as an illustration of our situation, it isn't.

As a debate in a vacuum, sure.

Just seemed fair to even the age and current talent level. Id even take rookie Eli over Barkley. Would you take rookie Cam over current CMC?

That was the point of the illustration though.

People were saying that you could make the choice based on position alone as if all things were equal.

I made the comparison specifically to point out that all things were not equal.

Got it, I thought for sure this isnt Mr. Scot picking a RB over a QB.

Panthers deal is incomplete, dont for sure 100% know what level Cam can play at currently.

An MVP award is an individual accolade....not a team accolade.  Jake went to a superbowl and an NFC championship game. Playoffs 3 times.  He was an undrafted backup.  Cam has an MVP trophy on him....that's really it.

So he didn’t do everything that Cam did? Also, MVP is a team award. It doesn’t go to guys on losing teams and football is the ultimate team sport. He doesn’t get to MVP alone.

Yeah well Jake played better in the Superbowl...by far.
