Cam derangement syndrome is a real thing

All people do now on this board is attack each other.

I'm old enough to remember when you got banned for personal attacks on here.

Things were actually halfway alright there for a time in the Panthers section.

But once it was clear Cam couldn't go health wise and Allen won his first start the mouth breathers started piling in. Instead of rejoicing a gritty team win a number of fans see it as an opportunity to pit players against each other and diminish someone for being injured. That's ugliness that really only stems from one place.

how about fans who are so delusional and who have been looking for a reason to sweep cam out of here since he got here saying that allen is doing things (like being evasive and making a big play) that cam never did. obviously, that is a load of horse poo.

I agree it's crazy to say that Cam has never been evasive  I didn't say it. Again though we have to suffer the Cam zealots being triggered by random bar flies because they are insecure about his future

Don’t forget to blame Rivera too, these same people know it’s all his fault we lost the last 9 cam played

Rivera has a lot to answer for. There's plenty of blame to go around. I certainly don't give him a pass. I do find it curious that others are given a pass  Double standards.

Exactly.  Some people are going full throttle on the emotions, but this is a business. My concerns about Cam:

1. He was not given the coaching he needed early on.

2. He saved RR's job a few times.  RR knowingly played him hurt.  That makes injuries worse because they try to heal and cannot.  I am convinced that Cam's second surgery (scar tissue etc) was because RR started him knowing he was hurt. Re-injuring a healing joint injury causes scar tissue to form on top of scar tissue.  Then the surgery has scar tissue.  Etc.

3.  Combine 1 and 2, and he was forced to run and never really developed into that pure pocket passer.  The long ball (your point was solid) is part of his game--if you take that away, the accuracy issues become more noticeable because they are loading the box.  Basically, our coaches may have hurt his long-term success.

Of course, we all have to guess based on what we see.  I just do not see Cam getting better--I see the potential for a rather substantial decline,.

I understand why you feel that way. But I am hoping for the best for everyone involved.

Rando at my bar was watching with me in the fourth quarter. Kyle Allen pulls a matrix move to escape the crashing end. We all pound the bar. Dude goes, without a trace of irony,

"I'm just saying, Cam Newton couldn't have done that"

Cam Newton made a fuging career out of doing that. Healthy Cam Newton ducks out of hits like that in his sleep and doesn't lose three fumbles because he is a tank with A-grade pocket awareness. He is an elite quarterback.

There is a positive correlation between people who say catastrophically stupid things like "cam newton couldn't have done that" and people who subjectively despise him for things like wearing a towel and dancing.

Cam Newton makes people deranged and it's going to be an unbelievable source of catharsis for me when he returns to take over the reins from Kyle Allen around thanksgivingish and leads this team to the playoffs

Cam Newton is not elite. I respect everything else you said, but he's not elite. No metric, or anything other than 2015-2016 shows he has been elite. Just saying.
