Bottom Line on Allen in this game.

That he has yet to throw an interception is genuinely pretty damn impressive.

Mind you, it would be a lot more impressive if it weren't for the fumbles.

I wouldn't have expected such a simplistic comment from you, Mr. S.  Maybe from a lot of the trolls around here, who only read a box score, and draw inaccurate conclusions from them.

Had Allen's fumbles come from open field running, with the ball not secured, I'd agree there's a problem with his ball handling skills.  But the action swirling around a crowded pocket is fast and furious, and swipes at the ball about to be thrown, by pass rushers who should have been better blocked -- don't you think most QBs would be coughing it up like that?

By far the more compelling take on Allen is that he didn't let any of it rattle him, just went back to the huddle, saying, "I got this," and showed he was a real pro.  That's comforting and encouraging to me.  Achieving success under adversity is a rare trait.

I talked in more depth about it elsewhere.

Thank you.  I asked that someone look that up, when I said I bet there weren't 3 QBs in the history of the game to do it.  And I wonder if Wentz did it with ALL 3 GAMES on the road??

No. Wentz's games were not all on the road.

Mahomes, like Allen did also have all 3 of his first starts on the road and won all 3.  Allen and Mahomes only 2 QBs since 1950 to do that.

Most of us were thrilled with the record shattering numbers Cam produced during his first few seasons, lack of wins not so much.

Allen can't hope to match the numbers Cam brought to the table back in the day, but so far Kyle has been clutch where it matters most (winning games when the chips are down).

However, it is still too early to know if Kyle's winning ways will last the test of time.

Regardless, we should all consider ourselves fortunate that the Panthers are at .500 today after having no wins two weeks ago.

It is about the journey, not the destination.

Happy as hell to have a win. And besides that I am just enjoying a watching a passer play the position. I bet the guys catching are pretty happy with him. I bet the guys on defense are pretty happy about it too.

We have been watching what may be the longest stretch of bad passing by a quarterback anyone will probably ever witness, because no one else would be given that much leeway to fail over and over. I was really completely sick of being forced to watch that.

This guy is a skilled passer of the football. I just wish he were black so the people that I know are out there questioning my motives, couldn't.

The fumbles suck. Takes the fun out of watching it. But when we did an exact repeat of the way we started last week, I had a feeling it would end the same way. Especially after watching their OL trying to block us.

Another thing I have been sick of watching is no pressure on the QB.

We might have a kicker too.

The kid has poise, he can throw and gets in and out of the huddle quickly. The game certainly doesn't seem to big for him. It was a defensive battle, but a win is still a win, and we did see some pretty incredible late game heroics from Allen.

Those fumbles, though... RR needs to make Allen carry a football around with him wherever he goes for the next week: around practices, at meals, home, sleep with it, shower with it, never ever drop that thing. We can't have a fumble with every sack.
