*Article* Cam Newton’s foot injury underscores the problems with the injury reporting rules

Rivera and company are doing the same blind poo they did last year that Tepper had to force (like we saw on all or nothing). It was obvious to all watching that Cam was hurting and it's the coaching staff's responsibility, in the team's best interest, to sit the I injured player.

Ron doesn't do it unless forced to by his boss or the player saying "I can't go".

Ron, you're a grown ass man in charge of the team. You pay attention to your players.

If we can all see it as casual viewers in limited tiime, how can you not see it?  Open your eyes and use some damn common sense. Just because a player says he's good to go and wants to tough it out doesn't mean he should. Make the call, man. Make the call.

Funny he has no problem sitting Luke when he's injured. The only way he sits Cam if he's not wearing a tie.

Cam admits to not confessing he was still bothered by his foot....and the blame goes elsewhere. Gawd I love this generation where nobody is responsible for their own actions.

Cam is without question the best thing to ever happen to the team but the stockholm syndrome some of the fans have when it comes to him is starting to get exhausting

Cam is absolutely responsible for his actions. I'm not excusing him, but having an over competitive drive myself, I understand the thought process. This is the actions of a young man who, imo, has never had to truly face his body's limitations. With age comes perspective. It's part of the maturation process and its difficult.

My displeasure and disappointment for Ron and Marty is from a more a business perspective. This is your franchise QB. This is the future of your team. When he is obviously hurt, and doing a poor job of hiding it at that, how do you not step in? Ron knows that feeling. It happened to him at some point. Marty is the GM. If Ron isnt stepping in, he should have.

It cant be easy to take your star player out of the game for his own good. We as could see it in his game and we're merely fans. They're the coaches, they're the doctors, they're the guys in charge. How can the "experts" at the job be less informed than the common fan. It doesnt make sense.

Cam didnt pass the eye test, and all this ignorance doesn't pass the smell test. Theres plenty of blame to go around, but a lot of us expected more from those in charge.

The only time Luke has ever sat is when independent concussion doctors have refused to clear him to play. What you’re implying is absolutely despicable. He’s played an entire season with a separated shoulder.

Ha! Cry some more. What do you think I'm implying?

Im trying to figure out how this is Rivera’s fault and not Cam’s.

unless there was a clear fracture that you could see on an x-ray (i have not heard this info so correct me if im wrong) how is anyone on the medical staff or coaching staff supposed to know the severity of the injury? If there is nothing an MRI or XRay can show it sure sounds to be like it all comes down to pain tolerance and comfort and the only one who can determine the level of that is Cam. At the end of the day Cam decided he was able to play and no one forced him to go out there. All you posters on here pretending that if you were the coach and clearly on the hotseat like Ron is that you would sit your franchise player despite him telling you he could go need to stop foolish yourselves. This staff has always sat players that had injuries there is literally zero evidence to suggest Ron is throwing Cam out there to play against his will.

Maybe because he's the head coach.

It was painfully obvious that it was bothering him. Cam has some responsibility in this but Rivera is ultimately responsible for putting us in the best place to win. He didn't.

So I guess you are saying that Ron is blind on top of being stupid?

This is such a stupid argument. Again, youre a coach on the hotseat and your franchise player who has played through basically everything says he can go. Stop pretending its an easy decision to go against what he says and pull a former MVP for a undrafted QB with one meaningless start to his name

Yeah, never mind he was held out of practice because he was having difficulty walking, much less playing football, CAM SAID HE WAS GOOD TO GO SO NO BLAME OR RESPONSIBILITY CAN BE LAID AT THE HEAD COACH’S FEET YET AGAIN!
