I agree, but he showed us a good game in 2018 and we made excuses--preseason game, etc. However, people need to realize that it is just as hard to play behind a team that has lost 8 games as it is to play vs. a defense with many backups.

Frankly, the main reason I want to see Allen (and Grier, for that matter) develop is the simple fact that it gives the Panthers some options.  If I have a 23-year old QB who can put up similar or even better numbers, I doubt the check I write for a 31-year old, banged-up QB is going to be very impressive.  I shop Cam by the end of the season.

If he sucks, we are in a bad situation and Cam's agent will know that.

I agree with this but Allen is going to have to show A LOT this season for me to be prepared to move on from Cam. And obviously Cam is gonna have to get healthy and show he can push the ball downfield.

this season is going to be interesting.

Regardless of what happens he gave us a week of hope and feel good.

At least that was something.

Considering we were all talking about a top 5 draft pick and firing the coaching staff midseason, Allen gave us something that resembles some sort of hope. Of course it can all come crashing back down to Earth against a good team Sunday, but fug it. We've had more fun this week than we've had in a year. I just hope (even if we lose), that we look competent against a good Texans team. Hope Allen balls out.

The more I watch of Baldy’s analysis, the more I like him. He doesn’t give lip service, he actually goes in and watches the the film without a preset agenda or a superficial approach like some others in his line of work.  I’d be curious to see a negative analysis from him of some aspect of our team to see how he handles that as well.

This year is really the best weapons we have ever had. Samuel is open constantly, he should of had 200+ yards vs Tampa, Olsen is still running great routes, Moore is a yac monster. We finally have weapons and Cam is to fuc*ed up to take advantage of them.

I swear he would have won the SB in 2015 and beat saints in 2017 easily with this roster

Most everything I’ve seen from him is overwhelmingly positive regardless of the team he is breaking down. This is one example of his negative analysis on the Eagles though.

Yeah. If he comes crashing down I'm going to disappear into my bourbon again.

That's why I hate statements like this. They have a tendency to be premature.

Certainly hope he's right, but as Bill Parcells used to say, don't fit him for  his gold jacket just yet.

Legit point here. Even if you love Cam and want him to lead us to a SB victory, any continued success Allen has drives Cam’s price tag down going forward if he does stay, which in turn means more cap space with which to keep him surrounded with talent in the future.

He senses pressure much better than most quarterbacks do with his level of experience in the pros. He doesn’t have a rocket of an arm, but that’s not really that important in Norv’s offense. And before you jump on my ass about it, Kyle has a good arm. He doesn’t have a rocket. He delivers a high velocity ball with pretty damn good accuracy. It’s perfect for this offense.

Arm strength is highly overrated.

Said it before: The awareness it's just something you have or you don't. I don't really believe it can be coached.

Pocket awareness is basically like doing what the guy on Psych does, but at a hundred miles an hour with huge men chasing you down.

It is a little overrated but there is absolutely a baseline minimum arm strength you have to meet in order to be successful and Allen is comfortably above that minimum.
