Cam is the heart of this team, if he is not pumped then the team isn’t either.  He talks about the losing streak like it’s still relevant.  Where does he say I will come back - just watch?

I’m not sure I agree Cam is the heart of the team, the pulse maybe.  Last Sunday Allen did a fine job keeping the offense pumped.  Cam is too up an down during games and not even keel enough to be a super leader.

Said it before, the only person who has the stroke to pull Cam from a game is Cam. That's kind of the situation when you have a megastar face of the franchise player.

I'm sure this is a humbling experience and it may be good for Cam on a number of levels.

Sh!t, though, Cam has said it was his deal. Can we quit throwing blame around and just keep hoping things will work out right for the team and the player? So far, so good and we've got a heck of a game ahead of us in Houston.

And we're proving we're a much better team than we thought we were.

That Cam is a tough boy, also a gay one.

The former impacts his performance as a football player, so I appreciate and admire it. His sexuality has no impact on his performance, so I quite literally could not care less.

It obviously concerns you enough to mention it, so I’d suggest given what we know about the statistical incidence of homosexuality in the overall population, more than one person you admire is gay and you just don’t know it. If this troubles you, maybe you should examine why you would let something that impacts neither you nor the things you admire about that person influence your opinion of them.

To me he comes off as soft and unmotivated.  He should be in the gym packing on muscle he lost in offseason, rather than explaining himself to various haters which is a waste of time.

Because in any 24 hour period when you’re a pro athlete who’s out with an injury and nothing but time on his hands, you couldn’t possibly BOTH work out hard AND make a 15 minute YouTube video.

That would just be crazy.

we'd be 2-1 and possibly 3-0 if cam would have put the team first.  i hate it.  he's not qb1 right now and its an attention grab. attention is like a drug and he's having withdrawals.  nobody needed to know any of that.    could have done an interview after the season and not when the TEAM has a big game coming up. i'm glad some of y'all liked it and got your fill, but i just didn't.  it was very immature.

it was millennial look at me, no doubt about it

more than anything.....  I believe that this all shows how little faith Cam and the Panthers staff had in the QB backups.  Clearly, Cam and the folks around him believed that a <80% Cam would perform better than either of the backups.  That is sad, but not surprising given what we saw in the preseason.  Kyle's performance in the game against the Saints at the end of last season is often mentioned but we did not see the same Kyle in the preseason and that must have played an important role in the (poor) decision making at the end of this regular season.  As far as the Youtube video, I am not sure that the timing was that great.  Cam obviously wants to spot light to be focused back on him  rather than on Kyle.  I must admit that I fast-forwarded parts of it, but did he mention Kyle, and his performance, at all?  It is another distraction which we really do not need....  ok just my $0.02 (and I know y'all don't care)

I think the biggest thing Cam can do to aid his recovery is to quit smoking. The carbon monoxide molecules binds to  tissues and prevents healing.

Yep absolutely .  Break something and one of the things an orthopedic md will tell you is to quit smoking if you want to heal faster.  Especially the foot.

From the way Cam made it sound, I dont think Ron knew about the full extent of the Injury until after the Bucs game. He said he hid it.

Look I have mostly supported Ron during his time here, especially during his Riverboat phase, when for a while he seemed to grow out of excessive conservatism, but everyone and his brother here on The Huddle could see Cam was not himself during those first two games. That leaves two possibilities:

1. Ron could see the obvious but looked the other way, shirking his ultimate responsibility for and to the team and it's players in favor of letting someone else make the decision when it should have been his.

2. Ron could not see with his own eyes from the sideline what a bunch of armchair coaches sitting at home blowing up a messsage board could see.

Neither possibility is good. At all.

I do believe by posting this video Cam is signaling a level of mistrust in the Panthers organization.....a fracture has appeared, will be interesting to see how it heals (or doesn't).

or just use his new vehicle of entertainment.... his YT channel.... he does say people keep asking... what else was he going to discuss on this week's episode of his series?

Cam fell on the sword once again and once again dumbass posters blame Cam and say he’s selfish.

rivera and co. need to go. For a military guy he sure is a fuging pussy.

Funny side note:

I waited on the Rivera family for the occasion of Ron's 50th birthday, which happened to fall the week before his first playoff game as a head coach. His father was in attendance, and although he was nothing but courteous and respectful to everyone, and he is not nearly physically as big as Ron is, I got a very strong vibe that he was not the sort of man you would want to piss off. He was military. Ron is only family of military. Military raised children do not always carry all those same traits their parents had.
