I mean, you can definitely make a utilitarian counterargument that it's simply about assessing the total value added in an economic sense. Sure, have fun with your formulas and your calculator.

But come on...if your assessment of sports is that cold-hearted, why not just root for the best team every year, and the favorite in every game?

Cam Newton is by far the most important player in Panthers history. As someone said before in the thread, he put us on the map. He was so controversial, and so interesting, that I created a whole troll account (RetiredCollegeCoach) just to sh*t on the guy and irritate player-only fans, even though he's my favorite NFL player of all time. He's simply the most important character in our story as a team. He was also an amazing, if flawed, QB. That's the guy that goes on Rushmore first, dummies.
