I think we all know Allen is fools gold....its just a matter of time.

Very Possible.  But then I think Kurt Warner, Tom Brady (5th rounder), Jake Delhomme, and Tony Romo.   Heck Roger Staubach was a 10th round selection.  All of them (even Jake) possessed some basic similarities.

timing, accuracy, and pocket presence.

What I saw was a QB with good timing, ball placement, and pocket presence.  He can run if he needs to do so.   It was not too big for him.  What else is there?  We have not seen him lead when the chips were down, but frankly, Cam didn't always lead then either.   Who knows what we have, but Warner, Staubach, and Delhomme prove that sitting and watching for a while can be productive.

To summarize---you don't know.  Nobody does.

You can make basic predictions about football using ordinary logic. Allen played against a bad defense and ripped it to shreds by playing a near perfect game. If you step up the level of defense, then Allen's success will decline some. So it's likely that he won't play as well against Houston, but it's extremely unlikely that he has a bed shitting disaster performance.

idk man. i was never impressed with him until i went to the game Sunday. he looked like a seasoned vet. thats not to say he'll still play like an all pro when teams get more film and start giving him different looks but he is incredibly gifted as a passer. all his issues in college seemed to be between the ears. he can make every throw and he seems to also be very mobile in the pocket. that TD to Samuel and the second one to Olsen were incredibly difficult plays that he made as if it was warmups

Wouldn't surprise me

When the news broke I was listening to WFNZ who has Christian Millers dad on who is a former player

He said he gathered from all his sources (former players, etc)  that if the tendon wasnt off, that itd be a few weeks to heal.   If its off, itll require surgery, that will end his season.

The saints Taysome Hill, had it at BYU and he missed an entire season and believed it lingered into the next year

This is the same injury that Santonio Holmes had.  Missed the whole season and was never the same ultimately caused him to retire

'When it comes to being infamous, Lisfranc injuries are up there with ACL tears and concussions"

"While a six-week recovery timeframe is certainly possible, players and medical personnel fear Lisfranc injuries for a few reasons: They can linger, they can be unpredictable and they are frequently marked by complicated, frustrating recoveries."
