Newton may be dealing with a lisfranc injury

There is a lot of stuff posted by people with an agenda that is just plain speculation and specious to boot.

I don't believe for one second Rivera would send Cam out there if Cam doesn't want to go. Number one, he couldn't. People have watched Cam for almost a decade, do you really believe he would let that happen? Cam does what Cam wants.

If anything, Rivera has been too indulgent in Cam in allowing him to play when he was hurting the team to be honest. At least that is my speculation.

If Rivera had knowledge that cam has a lisfranc injury (which he has to cuz he's the coach) and let him play anyways,  it's just another reason to fire him.

Unless he didn't. He seemed more frustrated than usual after the Tampa game because I think Cam was withholding information on how bad his foot really was bothering him. He didn't run against the Rams which says to me he was still hurting then. He told the coaching staff and trainers he was fine. Then Tampa comes, he starts limping or Rivera asks him why he's not trying to avoid someone running straight at him, Cam let's him know it hurts, finally.

Cam has a history of letting pain go a few weeks without notifying anyone of the full extent of the pain, to the detriment of the team.

So by the same token, if Cam lied about his injury to the staff, he shouldn't play again here.

Can you point me to factual evidence of this?

I mean all athletes do that when they are passionate about the game and their team, so...

I have certainly done it and I'm sure alot of the posters who have played ball at any level have done it.

Thanks, 88.

They're saying if he chooses a non-surgical approach, the recovery timetable is something like 4 to 8 weeks. If it needs surgery, out for the year.

At this point I hope he chooses surgery if he needs it. It's been too long with Cam at 60%.

Cam is done.  Has been for the past couple of years. Unfortunate but with his style of play, not unexpected.  Happened a couple of years later than I thought, but that's due to his size I guess.  He'll never be like he was in 2015.

People tend to forget that last year, before the Steelers game, he was playing at ProBowl level.     That is WITH a bum shoulder and not throwing past 15 yards.       It's just too early to be talking in absolutes right now.      He needs time to heal and unfortunately the team hasn't handled his injuries correctly.
