i'm not sold on the ranking of your pass defense, either. teams don't run on you because they have been focusing on the pass more (which you guys aren't doing to good against).

offenses focus on where the opposing defense is weak. teams don't run on you guys much because they know that they can get more than 12.5 yards per reception. sure, you have 7 INTs but you are also thrown on almost 38 times per game (2nd most in the league behind the titans). also you guys are giving up 273 yards per game receiving. only two teams worse than that is the lions and the titans.

am i saying that we are going to win? nope. does that mean that the game in january didn't happen? nope. but remember the panthers are 6-2 against your team. the panthers have nothing to lose at this point (read 'willing to take more risks and try some things that they haven't just to see what happens'). the defense is finally coming together. the panthers have given away more games than they have lost. all that is neede is for them to stop doing that. you get the panthers to stop making mistakes and you have yourself a game.

point is, cards shouldn't be very confident and you should be taking those rankings with a grain of salt, especially your teams. sure, you beat the giants but remember that the raiders beat the eagles. anything can happen.

Ya uare 6-2 against us, that's in the past. What have you done for me lately?

We will see I'm Hoping for a very good and competitive game, and it will probably be just that. Good luck guys I'm out.

wow i thought panthers fans were bad fans

it will still be on here in the carolinas right?

We have 38 sell outs in a row. The game is sold out. we always just have people wait till the last second to see if they can get tickets cheaper. Our season tickets are all gone we only have around 2,000 tickets remaining for all the other games.

Card's gonna avoid a blackout?

http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2009/10/29/cardinals-catch-an-extension-too/

it's pretty sad when you're the reigning NFC champs, just beat the Giants and still can't sell out the stadium...

We've got a pretty good sell out streak, and it is officially sold out. Nothing sad about it dude, lots of teams are having those problems (don't like to pull the economy card, but really). Arizona has never really had much of a fan base anyway, so it is a miracle that people have stayed on the wagon for 38 straight home games.

I just wanted to point out though that the top run defense rank isn't just in yards per game, but also yards per rush, at around 2.9 I believe. So yeah, it hasn't been a good pass defense, but no fooling, the run defense is good.

Hey guys Long time Cards fan, not here to troll at all, just here to talk some football. I know our teams have had some recent history especially over the last couple years. I've been reading a little bit on your site and noticed alot of you guys are saying if you run the ball all day you can beat the Cards this Sunday. I have do disagree. We are not the same defense as last year, and we pride ourselves on stopping the run. Number 1!! rush defense in the league and that isnt a watered down stat. We shut down Gore, Slaten, Jacobs, Maurice Jones drew, and on and on. If you guys have a chance at winning you have yo be able to pass to open the run. Anyway heres to a good game with no injury's. good luck guys seriously.

I think that line should be.. "If we run the ball all day, we have a better chance of winning than if we pass at all with Jake Delhomme"

The pass defense stats suffer because they shut down the run early and teams are forced to pass throughout the game. Then if they follow bend but don't break. their pass d will suffer through yards but not give up points. The only time they've truly suffered is against Peyton Manning. Their D is for real. Even with 2 of their secondary out, I don't expect much of a change in the aggression of their defense. I'm more worried about their Defense against Our Offense than our Defense against their Offense. It'll hurt us more if we give them short fields.

I can honestly say that I think this is going to be a VERY good game. We match up well if Jake doesn't come out stupidly, you guys have a ball hawk defense. The number 1 pass defense versus the number 1 run defense, looks to be a great game.

Thats a huge IF with Jake.. lets face it he wont be good enough for the panthers to win.. it would take a momentual collapse by the cards for us to win.

    • Yeah, I am not 100% against trading down but it needs to be at the right price. Also, because this appears to be a draft lacking in a lot of elite prospects, trading down could potentially backfire(as it always can, I suppose) or net a lower yield than typical. I just don't want to be fumbling around and reaching, which in the Tepper era has been a CONSTANT problem. The organizational impatience(and incompetence) been murderous.
    • Yeah I said that earlier all or most of these guys are broadcasting or doing the little Huddle show and stuff like that, they are affiliated this season.  I think Cam went in using the ESPN tack because it stuck it to Tepper and didn't criticize a player and that worked for him. Plus he ended up working for ESPN.....
    • Sports are a different animal. It's gladiator poo. You wouldn't go out and put the uniform on of the best burger maker in your neighborhood either. So, when we watch these athletes being amazing and giving their all, it is for more than just a check. The guys that are truly driven and love these games, they are doing it for many more reasons than the money. Boiling it down to a simple transactional thing is simplistic, at best. So, yeah, I can understand how Cam can feel jilted when other great Panthers are trotted out and honored by the organization and he isn't. Especially considering he is overwhelmingly the best QB to have ever played for us and literally put this franchise into the national spotlight because of the player he was, the things he accomplished and the personality that he is. So....yeah, I would be upset about that too if I were in his shoes. The money, that the business side. That other poo, that's personal.
