You can get away with it if you're a winner, though.

If you're a mediocre coach, not so much.

Right now the story in Carolina is Cam Newton. The second story is Cam Newton. Much the same until story number two hundred and thirty at which point it is the Cardinals game.

Newton I think was part of it, but the time Ron flew off the handle(for him) was when Joe wouldn’t stop asking about it.

Got it. I remembered Dave was a part of that somehow.

In any event, it’s messy. I get it. You never want to see your coach walking out of a press conference. Especially when the team is 0-2. I do think there was a good middle ground between asking the same Cam Newton question 4000 times and getting the latest on Colin Jones. That’s the sweet spot I would try to aim for as a reporter today. Too late now. Party’s over.

I would’ve liked Ron take on:

-AirRaid offense. Last time you’ve defended it?

-Murray’s height. Any particular strategy when facing shorter QB?

-12 personnel: more Ian Thomas to create matchups?

-Moton, LT? When? If? Why? Why not?

-Palardy: his impact on a team with a rookie QB, pinning that offense deep. Winning FP game.

-Dime package a possibility Sunday? If so: Cockrell and Elliott?

-Who is best suited on your defense to play “spy”?

The level of detail there might not of been great from his answers, but those are all questions worth asking. When he starts off the presser telling you he can’t say anymore about Newton, your best move is to cling onto things he can and will address—and things that have substance.

No argument.

General spin I'm seeing on this from the press is that it shows a lack of confidence.

That's not good reporting. Come on, we have to report on the important things. Like what color scarf Cam will wear this week. :eyeroll:

Seriously though, that's what Jourdan was such a breath of fresh air.

Someone should've asked him about KK

Another key starter down that could force Vernon Butler into the starting lineup

Jourdan is good.

Most of the rest? Remind me of the old school dudes who would sit their w/ a Marshawn Lynch.  He would be like, there is not point asking about X.  I am literally not going to talk about X.  And I have proven that I mean what I say in regards to not answering.  They then spent the next 20 minutes asking about X in slightly different ways for the next 15 minutes.

I would have liked to of heard about the LT situation.  Bruce.  Thoughts on attacking Murray in the AZ scheme. #missedopportunity
