I count 8 separate people that have tweeted that Kaepernick is in Charlotte today

I would love if Tepper signed him. Just as an an F you to...well everyone.

The day a team owner makes a football decision just to say "@#$& you" to people is the day he should sell his team.

You make football decisions for football reasons. Anything else is ignorant horse sh-t.

I think Tepper does a lot of things to make a lot of people happy. I’m not sure if this would be anything different.

And just so we’re clear, I don’t think that’s the right way to run a franchise. But I do think he aims to please. Sometimes, you can’t make people happy. And that’s OK.

Tepper doesn't make roster decisions.

(nor should he)

Yes I should clarify I assume Tepper, a hedge fund billionaire, would not make a decision like this based solely on social issues. I also assume he would sign Kaepernick because he thinks he can play and he doesn't care what the other white rich owners think.

I seriously doubt any owner in the league checks with the others to make sure they approve before their team signs somebody.

Hurney and Rivera went to him for approval. That's not the same as initiating it.

And even that came after an injury. It's not like we invited him to camp.

I’m working under the theory that Tepper is much more closely attached to these decisions this year than he has been in the past. I don’t believe Rivera and Hurney would have been invited back without such an exception.

It’s a theory. I could be completely wrong. That’s how I would do things if I brought those two back. I don’t have any illusions that he’s making these decisions alone. But I think he’s more involved in 2019. And I think he publicly took great pride in the Eric Reed pick up.

Tepper was still primarily running his hedge fund last year. It wasn't that long ago that it was reported he was going to shift to primarily concentrating on the Panthers, and as far as I know the sale of his hedge fund business is still in process.

I don't think he's fully involved...yet, but but then none of us has access to that kind of information.

I do think if any of the stuff with Kevin Colbert pans out, then he'll probably be hands off because he'd have somebody he can completely trust running the show.
