Lol "socially" good is all thats needed, who cares that he would be worse than Grier.

You conservatives nut jobs kill me. Your saying a quarterback who has started for years in the league and lead his team to a super bowl would be worse than not only our backup quarterback but, third string quarterback who has yet to play a down in a real nfl game lol

To be fair, the folks who wrote that article state right up front that they don't know anything about football and they aren't making the argument for football reasons. That pretty much renders it useless immediately.

As to actual football discussion, we're talking about a guy who hasn't played football in three years, who was benched the last time he did, who Jim Harbaugh had to adjust the offense around because of his deficiencies with reading defenses, and who didn't play in a system anything close to ours.

No quarterback is going to just magically come in and learn our offense overnight, especially not one who's known to have issues with reading defenses anyway. In the time that it would take to get him up to speed, Newton could be ready to go again.

Politics be damned, the Kaepernick thing is just not gonna happen, nor should it.

Let's talk the politics out if it. You have a guy who has started a few season and lead a team to a super bowl. No one is saying he is the long term answer. But if I'm Ron and I need to steady the ship and try to steal a few games till Cam is back healthy then I dont think there is a better answer. You cant tell me a guy who has read NFL defenses and was a 100 million dollar contract type player isn't a better player right now than our 3rd string qb.

That's just not true. And tho he did get benched all that stuff he was never a high interception type player. He wont go out there and light it up but he is a mobile type game manager who could win you a few games with his legs and hit some open targets. People are looking for the next Tom Brady and that just isn't going walk in the door at this point in the season.  Your right he doesnt know the offense from a can of paint.

But as long as norv has been coaching I'm sure he could draw up some similar concepts or a few plays that allowed him to operate within the railings of our system, or borrow a few from his old playbook. The key is to win right now. Think long and hard about if your job is on the line do you want a season NFL vet who at his peak has won games or a undrafted free agent who has yet to play a meaningful game. And then their is Grier who has looked worse than him.

Put the flag nonsense and all that aside.. who gives you the best chance to win games and should he be on a roster..

Some seem to fail to notice he wants a starting spot which we aren't in need of right now and Cam is not stepping down.

To be fair, Eli Manning has won 2 Superbowls and he isn't even on the same planet as Cam.

Kyle Bailey the afternoon host on WFNZ said theyve had several people swearing theyve seen Kaepernick around the stadium.  He thinks they are all trolling him but put out an award for anyone who gets a pic evidence submitted in that he'd get tickets to a game with him

On the Distraction vs. Talent Scale....

....Keeperknack doesn't have the talent required to tip the scale in his favor.

The longer he's off a roster, the better Kaepernick gets in people's memories.

Why exactly would any team sign a guy off the street who hasn't played in three years and would need time to learn their system before he could even be prepared for a game?

The time to sign Kaepernick would have been in training camp, not three weeks into the season.
