Do the math, you really think if we are 0-4 after Houston, Cam will play in meaningless games?! Then add on the fact we save 20 million next year by cutting him and all the chatter of him not returning.

It’s very well possible

It's a midfoot sprain, not a broken leg. He's not going to sit out the last 12 games just because we're 0-4 if he's healthy. Unless the injury is a lot more severe than we know now, he's certainly not done as a Panther.

He's been hurt for weeks.   He shouldn't have been playing.    Typical Panthers fashion we probably extended the issue just like his shoulder that one year.   Makes me wonder if he didn't want to play the last two games but felt he had to.

It would explain why he had the disposition of someone who hates their job getting ready for work in the morning every game

Not saying I like Lawrence over Tua but the guy looked like crap against that Clemson defense which is the closest thing to an NFL defense he’ll see in college

I believe he was playing hurt. Ankle maybe? He lit up UGA several times which is a good defense.

Whatever happens from here the OL needs to be the top priority for whoever will be the QB in 2020.

2019 is a loss barring a miracle. It's not impossible. I'd feel better about the odds if our OL was playing better, but it's gonna be a bumpy ride.

Funny how Cam with a decent offensive line wins MVP and he’s had that once maybe twice in all his years here. fuging Christ this team has a generational talent and drives him into the ground. Same thing gonna happen with McCaffrey, who by the way has played 100% of snaps over two games after playing like 95% last year.

I fully expect him to play. This staff will never learn that playing Cam injured to the point of being seriously hampered on the field isn't beneficial to either Cam or the Panthers.

It’s going to be interesting how the Panthers let this play out... lots of variables to look at;

If Ron and Marty want to win( yes they do) do they risk playing an injured Cam and make things worse

What does Tepper want. He’s definitely going to let his voice be heard, does he want Cam around after next year or does he want to move on.

players play through injuries all the time and QBs especially are no exception. That this board continues to sensationalize this mundane realty is one of this forum's oddest quirks.

also lol at any fantasy that Cam can miss any significant portion of time and return to be this franchise's QB next season.

I think history has shown how it goes when we play him through injuries where it's clear he shouldn't be on the field. If that's the case again this time I really hope Tepper steps in and puts an end to that idiocy. We can't win with this version of Cam so rest him and get him right.

This means Ron/Hurney is coming back next year doesn't it.

Could be.

They get a mulligan year, then use the top pick on Wirks/Young/Delpit, then go into the season with a legit QB competition. Whoever wins the qb comp over the summer is your 2020 QB(if Cam doesn't win he's cuts) and you just roll with the chance of being right back in the top 5 and this time the new coach/gm get their QB of the future.
