hey mr scot, our record has also gone down with cam's loss of ability.  i get your point about marty but in this case i think its a confounding variable.  i think the real cause is cam's injuries.  to me - a lot of that is on rivera and both gm's for not getting us the best line in football. its always been an after thought.  'skill' players become superstars because of offensive lines.  fire everyone but chase 'passion' blackburn

Hurney and Rivera knew last offseason that Newton was having issues but still they went with Taylor Heinicke as a backup.

Then, after seeing Newton go down to injury last season, they decided that having Kyle Allen around was enough of a backup plan for this season.

And yeah, there's that offensive line that Matt Paradis and Darryl Williams were supposed to be anchoring.

Said it before, will say it again. We need a real GM.

I agree...Moton. I don’t even see why it’s a hard choice. Daryl Williamscan play Right Tackle or Little can learn there if he can’t ...one move and boom instantly better

Said it elsewhere: Ron Rivera seems willing to fight to his last breath to keep Taylor Moton from ever playing left tackle again.

I have no idea why. There's definitely no logic to it.

I hope in that case that Tepper steps in and forces Rivera not to play him.  If that happens, the only hope for a good 2020 for Cam is to let him rest and rehab. That also makes sense if you want to trade Cam.

As a Falcons fan, I'm OK with the panthers not being a factor in the NFCS this year. As a fellow football fan, I feel for the real fans here, looks like you guys have a real mess here and  I don't see it turning around this year.

If Cam doesn’t play this year.  From a business perspective you move on.  Gotta think that is what Tepper would do.  He has no long term emotional attachment to the anyone.

New GM.  New HC.  Go find a new QB in 2020 or 2021

That's a very real possibility.

I know people don't want to hear that, but it's reality.

Why fire Hurney if things don't turn around? He went and got pieces for the defense. He didn't tell the coaches to switch Williams and Moton. Its not Hurney fault Cam shoulder fuged up and its taking time that we don't have to work through it. The same goes for Gettleman. They both put "enough" pieces around to NOT lose 9 out of last 10

That's Ronald to blame. I understand the concept of cleaning house and Hurney goes, cool but don't put the blame at Hurney feet for this.

Hurney's job is to manage coaches and players outside of the locker room. Like I said in other threads, when Cam wasnt passing the eye test and Ron wouldnt shut him down he should have. You cant risk serious/career ending injury to your franchise qb like that. Gman fugged that up too letting him play with a torn rotator cuff.

Ron makes a lot of questionable moves as a coach, especially at DC last year. I know GMs aren't supposed to interfere in coaches staff decisions but it proves a pattern with Ron that cant be overlooked. Loyalty before talent. But Hurney is a loyalty guy so it fits his persona.

Hurney has done some things that looked good on paper but havent pannes out. Happens to everyone. But his blinding loyalties are just too much too keep tolerating. He wont fire Ron when it's time (I think that was at the end of last year) and for that reason he needs to go.
