Hypothetical: Cam is released after the season, where does he go?

If there's a "new coach and scene", that scene might not include Newton.

I doubt it here barring 14 more games of what we saw opening day, also I was referring to him being cut here, a opportunity to play for competent head coach, imagine if New England was interest(which is a possibility), I think he’d hold off retirement for a chance to play under bill

TRG is right, though. The guy we've seen the last couple of weeks doesn't look like somebody who deeply loves the game.

If we go through a Bad season, that isn't something that's likely to restore that love.

Yeah but cam always looks like this when we’re losing, he look this same defeated way before 2013 and after the super bowl, just how he reacts to losing

Don't agree.

I've seen Newton after many a loss. He typically looks angry, not defeated.

Only reason I say that is before the season started he was regular energetic cam, guaranteed if we don’t botch the last play against Tampa and hold on to win he’s in a lot better of a spirit, we’ll have to see if that changes next Sunday IF we beat the cards

Cam, if he hangs em up, might do some TV gigs for the next season or two, while simultaneously having a high profile in the fashion world.  He is very marketable and while he gets his new occupation up and going, it wouldn't hurt to keep a presence in the game.

dark horse Candidate: The LA Chargers... and for a few reasons:

1) Opportunity to play if Rivers calls it quits. I am not sure when Rivers will retire but Cam could fill in nicely and I think could exceed in that offense.

2) Location. Cam seems to love the L.A scene and could really branch out his brand moving out to L.A.

3) Thomas Davis. TD could influence Cam to come to the Chargers.

I thought the same thing.  Not too sure about TD as I don’t know how long he is there either but the Chargers might be a good fit.

Amazing to read some of these comments...

...3 short weeks ago Huddlers were incessantly slagging Andrew Luck and branding him a "quitter" for retiring due to injuries while simultaneously saying Cam would play until he's 40...

...and now we are all good with Cam strolling off into the sunset while clipping the returns on his purportedly large investment portfolio?

No worries... Come next Sunday against Arizona, if Cam balls out, all will be back to rainbows and unicorns.... Comes with the territory of being a huddler lmao.

I feel like most people got on Luck for the timing of the retirement. If Cam Newton is "released" whoever try to poo on him for retiring are crazy.

If he does throw in the towel, a wish would be to get a QB like Joe Burrow....just a dream, probably end up with another third or fourth round scrub.

Agreed...i like a burrow and it would be the perfect scenario for us to grab him, a new staff and tons of cap space. It would be a quick rebuild. That is to say i still also like the idea of cam turning it around and leading us back to greatness.

I think a fired Rivera will get another job in a few days if he wants one, that is where I'd look. I don't know any better than the rest of the fan base that is selling he has been ruined by, doesn't want to play for Rivera because of the OL that has been provided and all that stuff, but I am not rushing to buy that.
