Even though it would benefit the vast majority of the union members. I don't like capping contracts though. Uncapped contracts in a hard cap league is a big part of what keeps the NFL competitive and gives bad teams hope. Teams can't just outspend their rivals to load up and paying a top tier player means you have to make sacrifices elsewhere on your roster. -

The players' union is never going to agree to something like that. Putting the cap on rookie deals was something that benefited older players, which is why that got put into place. Restricting vet players though? Not happening.
