If you've stopped believing in the QB then just stop watching. Follow another team. It's that simple.

So i need to keep “believing” even though i see him miss throw after throw and his inconsistency has been prevalent throughout his career? Or how about his injury issues that doesn't seem to go away?

Football is a business, if he cant produce we need a new QB.  Nothing personal just business.

People need to realize that both rivera and cams contract is up after next year. Correct me if wrong. Hurney will be gone. Itll be lame duck. This is 2009-10 again. But we need to see what grier has but ronnie wont even try.

The only problem is how do the Panthers find a legit coach that wants to go into his first season with Grier? That might be a tough sell.

Any coach or GM we hire will be on the job prior to the offseason.

They'll have time to evaluate the roster, decide who to keep, who to let go and where they want to go in free agency and the draft.

Of course? I was replying to his comment regarding going into the next season with Grier, that's presuming the new coach would agree to it.

That doesn't seem likely.

Actually, think of it this way. There's no way the Panthers beat the Dolphins at losing, so who's the second best quarterback? Is this quarterback really an elite prospect?

Though that really won't even come into play. The Panthers are 0-2, but they're 0-2 losing games where they were 1 score behind, with Cam looking broken, the offensive line looking broken, and the defense looking okay to shaky depending on the quarter. This along with a lot of questionable calls, and a ton of balls that didn't bounce the Panthers way (literally, looking at the Rams game), means this team won't be in the top 5 picks.

We've lost 9 out of the last 10 games my man. We got a better roster this year, at-least defensively, and still losing. Either Cam turn back into Superman (Ron don't win games just from coaching), he play so bad that Allen/Grier come in and make a drastic improvement, or the defense will just be THAT dominate. I don't see anything else besides those right now that will stop us from losing. We've hit rock bottom.

I don't know. Personally I got a feeling they'll turn it around at some point, that is unless Ron loses the locker-room. If Ron loses faith of his players, definitely possible, then yeah it's going to be a dumpster fire of a season. Though I still don't see the Panthers getting a top 5 pick. By week 6 we're going to have 2-3 more teams tanking, and the Dolphins are going to have a head start.

I'm not sure how beneficial it will be to cut Cam. We'd save $19 million but where are we going to redirect that money? Either into another qb, where $19 million will get you someone deeply flawed, perhaps with some occasional flashes but unlikely to make us much better than we are now, or we go with what we have at qb (Grier?) and end up with a terrible record, in which case, what good did having an extra $19 million do for us? The truth is, $20 million has become a bargain for a starting qb, and probably worth paying for the chance Cam approaches 50% of his mvp form. And if he's not worth an extension at the end of next year, at least let some other team sign him and be in line for a 3rd round compensatory pick (vs the zero compensatory picks we get if we cut him). And if you're thinking no one will sign him to a contract worth a comp pick, you really think a qb needy team won't offer him at least a 1 year, $12 million contract in free agency which is about all we would need for a 3rd rounder? If he looks washed up by the end of this year and we just want to tank, at least dangle him for a 3rd or 4th round pick next offseason and see if anyone bites.

I think Cam has a foot issue because his shoulder is no way responsible for him being That sluggish.  Maybe after a few days rest and a couple of good practices, he magically gets his legs back, has some accuracy, and looks something like what he has been. Yeah, maybe. I mean, it could happen. Some of it could.

My present sense is that what we have seen, is at the least, a preview of three or four years from now if we were to give Cam a new deal. So maybe we get two good years from him before we are right back here. In that context, I really hesitate to get into that situation.

Looking at it that way we may be catching a break, in a way. I mean, that's if you consider accelerating into a three year rebuild catching a break.
