Read an article the other day in which Geoff Swartz was also talking about this.  He said if the Panthers do not make the playoffs there will be changes at GM and Head coach.  And because of that the team will not strap a new coach with Cam on the final year of his contract.  He said for the 2 mil they would cut him and let the rebuilding begin.

Aaaaaaaaaaaand. There it is. As I've said, IF he's your guy you extend him asap because you don't want him to hold back and you're confident that he is A franchise QB.

He is but Tepper has a job to do and it doesn't get easier with the offense not featuring Cam while Cam says he's fealing OK. My question is, why isn't Norv using Cam?

This offense has to bend to whatever Cam can do and everything else should flow from that. Cam HAS TO be the threat or you've got guys not fearing Cam. That's the player he is. That's who he is and you're asking him to be less than that.

This isn't on Cam. The Chudfather understands how important a player like that is. So do 30 other teams.

If anything here Tepper, you've got a franchise QB. You've got a guy so special and unique who CAN obviously dominate at his position. Spend your money. The analytics can't fully calculate what Cam is, fashion and all. You need to ask the question " do I have the guy that fully understands my racecar?"

I don't think so. Statistics will tell you who that is. It's the Chud. Pay him.

If the Panthers let go of Cam get ready for 2-5 years (could be a lot longer, just look at the Browns) of trying to find a quarterback. If they're lucky they'll find trash until they find a star. Worst case scenario is a Tannehill or Bortles that keeps the team winning just enough games.

I'm pretty sure there's not a team in the league that would extend Newton looking like he does right now.

Heck, even if he looks better before the year ends, you've still got to worry about whether he can be consistent.

At this rate, we'll be drafting our QB in the first round next year

We have trash play at the position now, so it's not like the on-field product would look different

That guy you describe hasn't  been around since Nov of last year. I had huge hopes the surgery went well and Cam was back. It is so disappointing to see him so inconsistent. He drops a dime to Olsen on one play and then overthrows a wide open receiver on the next two plays. He even throws the ball different going between his new motion and his old one. I hope he gets back to who he was but you and I both know it is more than rust. I think Cam isn't happy because he is just as dismayed about what is happening. I have not heard Cam booed like he was on Thursday since he came here. I just don't know how long we should wait. This has been 8 games and he can throw the deep ball now so that is an improvement. But wow his consistency is just not there to sustain drives.  Honestly to save Cam long term I would give him a few weeks off and see what Allen can do. If he sucks then we decide to either try Grier or put Cam back in

It week 2 he still looks the same

The staff looks hesitant of him

Teams have figured him out like Tampa and will stack the box and force him to hit shots down field in man coverage no help, where he hasnt shown he could in 2 seasons.

Yes its still early but the alarms have been going off and the signs have been pointing not positive

Teams figured him out years ago, but he was still a runner and had arm strength so he could still make plays.  Plenty of people have said it, when he becomes one dimensional he is no longer a good QB. It appears the day has come that he has become one dimensional.  I don’t know why everyone can’t see it, Cam was never a pocket passer and he never will be.  His mechanics have always sucked and he never appeared to attempt to fix it.  I believe that part of all of the above has him mentally messed up right now and depressed.  It’s apparent his problems aren’t all physical.
