If you are the owner how do you proceed with the season?

So you just paid 2.2 billion dollars for a franchise and now have less than a 12% chance of making the playoffs after going 0-2.  It’s statistically probably less than that since we lost 2 conference games ( 1 division) at Home, but I can’t find any figures on that.

How do you imprint your view of the franchise going forward?

When do you consider a complete staff change?

How do you from a financial aspect keep the fans engaged?

What are your demands on the players and playing time?

I agree with the sentiment that firing a coach mid season doesn’t make football sense.. However I DO think it makes business sense as it gives us the fans something to look forward to and a light at the end of the tunnel.

If I’m Tepper, 0-3 and I’m firing Ron/Hurney, ask Norv to be interim, if he says no because if his butt buddy Ron leaves then he is leaving also, then fine.. Chase Blackburn step right up!

Here is my take:

1) The staff will stop running CMC into the ground and think about his longterm health.  Scarlett and Bonnafon will be inserted into the game plan

2) Little will be inserted into the lineup after the Cardinal game if Darryl still looks like Darryl.  We  are stuck with Little now.  No reason to not throw him in the fire and start to give him game action to develop.  Darryl isn’t going to be here next year and he is who we thought he was.

3) Begin a GM search immediately. One that understands your philosophy of building teams through the draft.

4) Have a contingency coaching plan for when you can RR after week 5.

5) While you give Cam some time to “ work through his rust” make it known that as soon as we are eliminated from the playoffs that Allen and Grier will be starting to gauge what we have there.

6) Make it known that you expect people to actually tackle using their arms.  And any further BS tackling attempts like the one Eric Reid wiffed at will result in a benching.  That goes for whatever Donte was doing out there also.

Step one: bench Cam. Let him sit on the bench and either heal or find his fire again. It's obvious he's doing neither out on the field. If he neither heals nor gets back the mojo that made him Superman before, it's time to cut bait and move on.

Step two: Make them put Kyle Allen in as the QB. Here's the chance to evaluate Rivera and the Turners without Cam either saving or harming them. We aren't asking for a real Jake Delhomme turn around, but let's see if they can coach out some wins without the superstar on the field. This will help determine where the problem is without any masking of the issues.

Step three: Put Hurney on notice that he needs to inform some of these bigger name vet pick-ups that this is an employment deciding year for them based purely on their performance. Guys like Poe, McCoy, Reid, Irvin, Paradis need to step up and play like their reputations made us hope. So far they've either been meh or haven't even seen the field.

Step four: Be prepared to clean house at season end. There's a lot of good, young talent on this team and let's also not waste the remaining years of Luke by trying to chase 2015 all over again. Ron, the Turners, Washington, Newton, KK and others may have just reached the end of their shelf life and need to move on.

Step five: Look at retooling the scouting department. Changes in coaching and management don't matter if you still have the same talent evaluators providing guidance for draft days and free agency.

If the season is over, why worry about football sense. You should start thinking business sense.

Word has been going around that Tepper wanted Mike Tomlin fired. It makes no sense at all to not want to fire Rivera.

If I were Tepper, I'd wait for about half this season to play out before I did anything. But right now I'm watching extremely closely and consulting people I trust on what to do next.

If we go 0-8 or something horrendous like that I'd fire Rivera mid-season. Probably promote Norv, Blackburn, Scott, or someone else on the staff for the rest of the season, whoever Tepper likes the most to give THEM a shot to try to put some juice back into the team.

If that still doesn't work, I'm scrapping everything in the offseason. Hurney, Norv, Rivera, Washington.

Offseason comes, I've ALREADY done my homework during the season and already have a good idea who I'm hiring for the new management and coaching positions.

I'd say it depends on Cam's performance for the rest of this year, but if he has a mediocre or bad season he IS on contract in 2020 as his last year. If he's anywhere halfway decent this season in 2019 on the whole I'm keeping Cam, Luke, DJ, C-Samuel, Bradberry, Donte, Burns as the core of the team and everyone else is subject to change. I'm focusing on giving Cam and Luke the absolute best possible chances of victory in 2020. Getting the best coaches/staff in the offseason. Likely we have a high draft pick if we have a terrible season, so I'd be looking at a franchise LT and a young DE/OLB to compliment Burns .

Having a LONG talk with Cam in the offseason on where he wants to take the franchise, I'm going to try to help you in any way possible to succeed in 2020 etc. If you're hearts not in it anymore we're willing to cut bait and move on.

If Cam does keep playing and performs badly 2 years in a row (2019 AND 2020) , I'm simply not resigning him and letting him become a free agent at the end of his deal at age 31/32. Wouldn't be the end of the universe for Cam IMO, that's still fairly young for a QB, he could either retire or try to rejuvinate his career elsewhere, he'd get plenty of chances being a former MVP.

1. Rest Cam. Let's give Kyle Allen a couple of starts. Give Cam time to heal, emotionally and physically.

2. Quit running CMC into the ground. Use him, just not every down.

3. Fix the O line. I'm looking at YOU Williams.

4. Rivera. You're really going to earn your paycheck. You're also our new D coordinator. Goodbye Mr. Washington. Good luck in your new career as AD for East Gaston High School.

I think if we skid the next four games you have to fire Rivera. You put Scott Turner as your Head coach and Perry Fewell/ Sam Mills 3 as your DC. It probably want go well but it will give Hurney time to find a new head coach while protecting players from a desperate HC.
