DJ gets separation, and Samuel gets even more. That's not an excuse for Cam's Thursday night performance. Hit Samuel just on one of the several misses alone, and maybe we win.

Some Panthers fans definition of separation doesn't jive with reality.

Running along the sideline with a defender in your back pocket is not "separation".

But there's gonna be a real fun case study with Micheal Porter jr and his siblings laundry list of injuries from their vegan/raw vegan diets from birth. Not blaming being vegan on body recovery but as a Denver Nuggets fan I'm glad the staff have incorporated meats back into MPJ's diet. Probably means he moved Dr. Douglas Graham out of his house

Now back to football.

I don't like this very slimmed down vegan player in front of us

Cam like most vegans convince themselves into thinking they're better. Yeah you are, AWAY from football. You're playing with monsters aiming for your head, literally. This man done dropped down to 230 from 265 over the last 2 years. The size, which was once an advantage, is now a disadvantage.

Let's be honest

Cam don't move as well as he used to. He look slow and very low on energy. You all ask for him to run, he can't like he used to. You'll say he's injured... yeah cause he get injured just from being tripped up now. He could take the hits, but he can't anymore. You couldn't knock the ball out of his hands once upon a time, but its a good chance you can now.

I personally believe the throws and accuracy will get better as the season go along, my main concern is will he even last a whole season.

The Cam we knew is definitely gone. This is a new Cam.

I have doubts he will see the field again this season.  For his sake I really hope he doesn’t. His shoulder needs more time to heal.

You don't need a PHD to see this. I wish teams prevent stuff like this from happening since they are getting paid millions of dollars to play. You can't just drastically change your diet at age 30 and expect things will be much better. I'm not talking Brady or Brees, I'm talking those who are extremely physically built and gifted, like Cam. 230? Why nobody on the Panthers are like Cam, what are you doing. The goal in football is to get bigger and stronger. As I said before, this is a new Cam that I don't recognize.

The Nuggets is my team too so shout-out to you. I was disappointed for the hype of MPJ for the summer league and he get hurt again. Its true how his whole family been on that diet since birth, him and his siblings all always hurt. MPJ bump knees with somebody, he out like damn. I haven't heard MPJ changing his diet, any links?

With his level of care and that I assume he has or works with a nutritionist, I dont really care. All that can be accounted for with money. His slim is still large, just not 265 large.

Cam has taken years of beatings. It's still week two. If it comes to the worst possible outcome for Cam, I dont see his veganism being in the top 5 reasons Cam isn't Cam anymore.

The question is how has becoming vegan affected his mental health? Perhaps it's part of a larger change in mindset from work to progeny and the grind of rehab? Perhaps his depression and lack of enthusiasm is food related? Chemical balance in the brain is very delicate and can be altered easily by dietary changes.

Kyle Allen makes a mistake, he gets up and smiles and laughs. Cam makes a mistake, he looks like the world is ending. The end result of the following play isn't any different other than I think guys around Allen feel like they will get it next time.

Cam doesn't seem to be happy playing anymore, especially since this foot issue. My take is that IR'ing him, if Allen plays well again this week, may be the best course of action. Give Cam's shoulder some rest, give his mind some rest, and give his body some rest. If he could even come back next year and play at a level around his market value, with the same joy he had before, you then have trade bait with Allen, similar to the Patriots with Jimmy G.

All ima say is I'm not saying you can't be a physically dominant NFL player being vegan, I just wouldn't want to be the first to actually do it.

A safer correlation is probably once top tier all-pro players look into begin vegan their either so far down the injury rabbit hole that the damage to their bodies is done or their getting older and trying to prolong their careers.

Arian Foster looked into begin vegan after age/injuries and you never heard from him again.

Tyrann Mathieu - undersized; play dropped a touch with injury/old age; bounced back with Texans last year

Gerald McCoy - Not the player he once was which is natural with age, recently transitioned to vegan

Cam Newton -  you see the trend at this point

Cam is a unique dude all the way around. He and Allen are different personalities and I'm sure the age and life differences also come into play. I think the whole vegan thing is overblown here. There is so much misleading information on the market pushing different diets and psudoscience for profit that it's just noise to me. If Cam is working with a professional to get him what he needs in a format that is acceptable to his diet, their shouldn't be a problem. Money is obviously not an issue so its attainable and hopefully enforced regardless of diet preference for our players. As for if it makes him unhappy, I honestly can't say. I wouldn't have been happy behind William's either. Allen's also happy to get a chance to play. So there are a lot of possibilities and moving parts to be as certain as some are about these corilations.

How he responds to the current situation is on Cam. I wanted him benched last year. Yes he wants to play, and that is important, but he has coaches and professionals that should override him from doing damage and creating a bigger issue. I hope Allen gives him the proper time to heal, that he heals completely and comes back healthy and happy. Cam has played this game hard for 8 years, I wouldn't fault him or his body for falling apart. I wouldn't have survived a year of what Cam has. I also hope Allen enjoys himself and performs well.

I'm not sure Cam gets the luxury of resting the entire year this year and coming back next year. The NFL is a brutal workplace, on and off the field. The people running the team are in win or else territory. There are multiple scenarios where this doesn't end well for Cam. The only thing I am certain of on that front is I am not against Cam and just wish him well.
