Cian Fahey says Cam is done

Can’t believe we’re really talking about how Cam might be done. I was hoping he would come out and play like he did the first half of last season and definitely be getting another contract extension. I don’t know now. It’s only been two games and hopefully he can turn things around but if he keeps playing like this he might really be done.

Looks like his throwing shoulder is off and he cannot throw the ball like he used to before the shoulder injury. The shoulder may have healed but not well enough to make catchable throws. If you watch how Cam throws the ball you can tell something is not right with his arm(shoulder) mechanics. It's like his arm has weakened or something the way the ball came out when he threw it. He doesn't have full range of motion anymore.

Cian says “this is sad”. I agree...seeing a DE own your backfield in a split second while having to throw it well downfield as Cam backpedals as fast as he can to keep from getting murdered because the LT sucks monkey balls. Truly, truly sad.

Cam was terrible, and looks like he wants out. But don’t put that one play on him. NO ONE is completing that pass with regularity.

Cam needs Ted Ginn . That's the bottom line. Remember when left the first time, Cam struggled, then he came back and was great ... then left again and Cam has never been the same since.

When is Cam due to get paid $40 mil? is it this off season or next? We all know, the Panthers have no choice but to pay Cam regardless ... right? Even if this means that Cam needs to sit out a full year ... No team has ever walked away from their  ( MVP ) QB in his prime years ... Not the Giants, not the Ravens, not the Seahawks, not the Falcons, not the Saints, ...etc. The Panthers are married to Cam until the bitter (Payton Manning or Joe Flacco) end.

Here's a theory I haven't heard anyone express --

There are apparently several orthopedists on the Huddle, who can spot a shoulder condition a mile away (or on TV).  And they've concluded he's crippled and washed up.  Yet there were several instances when Cam threw lasers last night.  Even Aikman commented about his 'velocity.'

So I'm thinking, maybe it's not the shoulder, but difficulty with trying to stay within the restrictive confines of "the new throwing motion" that was forced upon him.  Even the hangdog expressions so many have commented on could be tied to that -- he's expressing frustration that he can't be the mechanical robot who has to comply with doing things differently from what's always come naturally to him.  Maybe those back foot flicks of the wrist weren't so bad after all, if they got the job done.

Now he sees a wide open receiver, and instead of a natural reactive throw, he gets tied up with mental reminders of left arm position, step timing, etc. I liken it to a pro golfer who gets a new swing coach, who, for his own ego, makes his student rebuild his swing.  Picture Bubba Watson (who's never had a lesson in his life) being subjected to David Ledbetter's position checkpoint theories.  You think the joy wouldn't go out of Bubba's face?

Just an idea.  If I'm right, they should just let Cam be Cam.  Bet he'd prefer it that way, too.
