What is Dave Tepper thinking

I was thinking about the cut Cam option but i think his cap hit is around 20m... is Tepper ok with eating that much money

You could be right. Tepper has no ties to Cam or the staff. But Tepper loves to win so is he willing to just let the team go to Hell this year?

This was a roll the dice year for Tepper to see if this team as it is can go anywhere. He will ride this out. Then come the off season start cutting bait. This iteration of the Panthers is coming to an end.

 No rookie QB is beating out Cam, because the problem isn’t a Cam problem alone.

I'm still surprised Ron hasn't been fired yet today.  The realist in me realizes it's not gonna happen, and maybe Tepper wants to see if can turn it around first... BUT sitting there last night in a half empty stadium, with the team overall playing like sh*t (the defense was not bad) I was thinking if they lose this game Ron is gone tomorrow.  

PLUS overall Hurney has done well this time around, BUT with him and Ron... after last season Tepper said we will not go into another season without a viable back up and Ron|Hurney put all their eggs in the Cam basket anyway.  

Kind of sucks not even two weeks into a new season realizing it's basically over :-(    (of course every week I will tourture myself thinking they can turn it around) and maybe they will.  Just not to sure, because Cam just looks so bad.

Tanking a season to let your organization implode IS being a dumbass.

Tepper is a business man. He isnt going to just sit back and watch sales plummet.. He will force a move when he feels the time is necessary.

My understanding is Cam can be cut after this year with no cap hit. It would be a 20m cap savings.

Well, when half or more of your seats are bought by oposing fans and 95% of money made in the NFL is profit shared anyway, he really isn't going to take a hit.    That was Richardson in a nutshell.    He had the best situation in the league where his team could suck but opposing teams' fans would buy out the tickets (or the corporations around town).    However, I don't think Tepper is here to make money.    This is a dream for him.    No one really loses money in the NFL I don't think it's just a matter of if you're making "enough".

Bingo.  He is used to Pittsburgh.  I am betting they did not have a stadium full of Bengal fans--even when the steelers were struggling.  However, they did not fire coaches often.  I can think of 3...
